LSC Outdoor Track and Field awards released

Almost 130 athletes were recognized on the All-Lone Star Conference teams for their efforts at the 2022 LSC Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships.  The awards were announced Friday by league officials.

West Texas A&M swept the men’s and women’s titles with the Buffs claiming their second title and the Lady Buffs earning their fourth crown at the league’s outdoor meet May 5-6-7.

In addition to the announcement of All-LSC performers, the league recognized four student-athletes and two coaches with individual awards.

For the second straight year, WT’s Benjamin Azamati claimed the Cap Shelton Award as Outstanding Male Track Athlete, while Lubbock Christian’s Bryce Spence earned the Oscar Strahan Award as Outstanding Male Field Athlete.  WT’s Matt Stewart was named Men’s Coach of the Year for the second consecutive year.
