SELECTED NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Andres Quintana, Eastern New Mexico, had a great weekend in Eastern's 2-2 split with Texas A&M-Kingsville. Quintana batted .615 on the weekend, going 8-13 at the plate, and moved his season batting average from .259 to .306 after the weekend. In the Hounds' 11-10 walk-off win on Friday, Quintana posted a career-best four hits, scored a run, and had an RBI. In ENMU's season finale, Quintana finished 2-4 at the dish with a double in the Hound's 10-9 walk-off win on Sunday.

Jake Mares, St. Mary’s, helped set the tone for the Rattlers in all four games of the series, scoring in the first inning of all games after walking twice and singling twice. In two of those games, he put pressure on the defense immediately by stealing second as StMU won three of the four games to advance to the Lone Star Tournament. The Fort Worth speedster stole a total of four bases on the week, bringing his season total to 23 and he helped the team turn four double plays in the series. For the week, Mares hit .467, drawing five walks and scoring eight runs (1/4 of the team's runs for the week).

Giancarlo Servin, Texas A&M-Kingsville, had a stellar weekend against Eastern New Mexico, maintaining a .462 batting average while batting six runs across the plate. He went 6-for-13 across the weekend with a home run and a walk to his credit. Servin crossed the plate himself five times en route to a road-series split against the Greyhounds.

Kyle McShaffry, UT Tyler, had a big weekend at the plate to help lead the Patriots to a series win over #25 Lubbock Christian. McShaffry went 7-16 over the weekend with five RBI and a double. In Sunday's series finale, McShaffry went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI while scoring a run to help the Patriots secure an 11-5 victory and hand the Chaps their first series loss of the season. McShaffry continues to lead UT Tyler in hits, batting average, RBI, doubles, total bases, and home runs.

Justin Harris, Angelo State, led the Rams at the plate with 11 RBIs on the weekend as ASU swept UT Permian Basin to finish the regular season with a perfect 24-0 road record. The Rams claimed the LSC title as Harris finished with a .471 batting average while hitting four extra-base hits and scoring five times.

Jack Eagan, West Texas A&M, continued to dominate on the mound for the #13 Buffaloes this past weekend as the senior lefty from Wautoma, Wisconsin, tossed a two-hit complete-game shutout in Game Two during a 2-0 victory over St. Edward's at Wilder Park in Canyon. The lefty from Mississippi State was impressive again on the bump as the reigning NCBWA South Central Region Pitcher of the Week allowed no runs on just two hits with four walks and seven strikeouts to move to 6-2 on the season.

Ethan Coombes, Lubbock Christian, hurled a complete game for the fourth time in as many weeks, winning 4-1 in his start at UT Tyler. The right-hander allowed just one run in the outing, limiting the Patriots to a .240 batting average and striking out 11 of them, which is a season high. Coombes struck out every batter in the starting lineup at least once save for one and got another batter who pinch-hit late in the game. He scattered six hits and walked only one. He has a 1.67 ERA in his last four outings.

Jan Cabrera, Texas A&M International, was masterful for the Dustdevils, helping lead TAMIU to a victory in game two of its doubleheader against Cameron. Cabrera tossed a complete-game shutout in the 4-0 victory, allowing just two hits, one walk and struck out six. The Aggies hit just .087 in the game off Cabrera, and not one of the three runners to reach made it past first base.

Andrew Girod, St. Mary's, needing to set the tone in the series to secure a spot in the LSC Tournament, the Rattlers went to Andrew Girod in the second inning trailing 6-1, and he promptly shut down the Lions' offense, allowing only three hits in the remaining 5.1 innings. He struck out four to win just his second game of the year, retiring the first six batters he faced, as well as the final four - including a strikeout to end the game.

Kobe Jaramillo, Texas A&M-Kingsville, was lights out against the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds, tossing a complete-game shutout and earning his team a 6-0 win. He struck out 10 without walking a batter and scattered three hits across seven innings of dominant work on the mound. He held opponents to a .120 batting average and went the distance despite throwing only 89 pitches. The outing was Jaramillo's longest of the season, and his strikeout total represents a new career-high.

Carson Childers, Angelo State, pitched five innings in relief to lead the Rams to a comeback win over UT Permian Basin to complete the series sweep. Childers allowed only three base runners while holding the Falcons to a batting average of .067. He finished with six strikeouts while earning his sixth win of the season.

Brayden Johnson, UAFS, did not allow a hit for the remainder of his outing after surrendering a pair of hits to the first two batters of the game in a 7-1 win over St. Mary's. He had four multi-strikeout innings on his way to a season-high nine punchouts. He had one stretch of retiring eight consecutive batters as he earned his third win of the year.
