DBU, Eastern New Mexico, Texas Woman’s, and UT Tyler each went undefeated last week as Lone Star Conference teams played each other in non-conference, in-region contests.
League action begins this week.
LSC volleyball teams are 98-96 overall this season. The squads are currently 12-14 combined against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams, the other league in the NCAA Division II South Central Region.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Mikayla Ware, UT Tyler, SR, Criminal Justice, OH, San Antonio, Texas, Tom C. Clark HS
Ware had 15 or more kills in all three matches as UT Tyler went a perfect 3-0 on the weekend over Lubbock Christian, Angelo State and No. 13 West Texas A&M. The senior averaged 5.40 kills per set, leading the team in kills in all three matches, and posted a .248 hitting percentage for the weekend. Ware totaled 21 kills and 20 digs in Thursday's win over LCU, and then hit .300 with 16 kills in Friday night's victory against ASU. Ware was once again at her best in UTT’s signature win of the weekend in a 3-0 sweep of WT, putting down 18 kills in the three sets to go alongside eight digs. Ware leads the Lone Star Conference and ranks sixth nationally with an average pf 4.76 kills per set on the year.
DEFENSIVE
Dakota Rogers-Hurtado, UT Tyler, SO, General Studies, MB, McKinney, Texas, McKinney Boyd HS
Rogers-Hurtado totaled 15.0 blocks over the course of UT Tyler's 3-0 weekend at the LSC Crossover. Rogers-Hurtado captained a UT Tyler defense that limited Lubbock Christian, Angelo State and No. 13 West Texas A&M to a .167 hitting percentage for the weekend. The sophomore totaled four blocks against LCU, eight blocks against ASU and three blocks against WT. She also added 14 kills on just 25 swings in the matches to total 22.5 points for the weekend.
SETTER
Adeline Ortman, UT Tyler, SO, Management, S, Rhome, Texas, V.R. Eaton HS
Ortman averaged 11.10 assists per set and helped operate a UT Tyler offense that led the Patriots to a 3-0 weekend. Ortman helped her team secure wins over Lubbock Christian, Angelo State and No. 13 West Texas A&M throughout the weekend, totaling 111 assists between the three matches. She had 43 assists in the 3-1 win over LCU on Thursday night, 30 assists in the 3-0 sweep of ASU on Friday night, and then 38 assists in the 3-0 Saturday afternoon sweep over WT. Ortman paired her 30 assists in the win over ASU with 10 assists for the double-double, and also added four blocks and seven service aces throughout the weekend.
