Angelo State, St. Edward's, St. Mary's, Texas A&M International, Texas A&M-Kingsville, UT Permian Basin, and West Texas A&M each went 2-0 in Lone Star Conference games last week.
LSC games continue with each team playing a double round-robin schedule within their eight-team division. Additionally, teams will play eight crossover contests against teams from the opposite division for a total of 22 conference games.
The LSC Men’s Basketball Championship will feature an eight-team field in 2023 with seeding based on the 22 conference games. The divisional winners will receive the top two seeds in the tournament. The championships are set to take place March 2-3-4-5, 2023, at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.
LSC men’s basketball teams are 153-116 overall and 17-17 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, the other league in the South Central Region.

OFFENSIVE
Azairah Seay, UT Permian Basin, SR, Psychology, Guard, Montgomery, Alabama, Lee HS
Seay had the scorer's touch averaging 24.5 points per game for the Falcons as they picked up a pair of home wins over Cameron and Midwestern State. The senior was feeling it on Thursday, with 24 points in the first half against CU before playing sparingly in the second half. In 26 minutes against the Aggies, scored 31 points while shooting 63.2% (12-of-19). He added 18 points, six rebounds, and three assists against MSU on Saturday. Seay did most of his damage from deep, knocking down nine 3-pointers.
DEFENSIVE

Drewey had a great all-around week for TAMIU, helping the team go 2-0. In Thursday's 57-48 win over UT Tyler, Drewey put together a 13-point, seven rebound, and two steal performance, while helping hold the Patriots to their second lowest scoring total of the year and just 31.5% shooting from the floor and 19% from three. Drewey followed that performance in Saturday's win over DBU with 18 points, five rebounds, two assists, one block and three steals. Drewey and TAMIU limited their opposition to an average of 53 points and 37.1% shooting on the week. The Dustdevils sit 11th nationally in scoring defense.
