Lubbock Christian, St. Edward's, UT Permian Basin, Texas Woman's, and West Texas A&M each went 2-0 in Lone Star Conference contests last week. TWU remains unbeaten in conference (10-0) and divisional play (6-0).
LSC games continue this week with each team playing a double round-robin schedule within their eight-team division. Additionally, teams will play eight crossover competitions against teams from the opposite division for a total of 22 conference games.
The LSC Women’s Basketball Championship will feature an eight-team field in 2023 with seeding based on the 22 conference games. The divisional winners will receive the top two seeds in the tournament. The championships are set to take place March 2-3-4-5, 2023, at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.
LSC women’s basketball teams are 143-123 overall and 22-16 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, the other league in the South Central Region.

OFFENSIVE
Sadie Moyer, Texas Woman's, SR, Kinesiology, Guard, Broken Arrow, Okla., Union HS
The Pioneers remained undefeated in LSC play (10-0) with wins over Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas A&M International this week. Moyer led the Pioneers, averaging 24 points on the week behind extremely efficient shooting (52.9%). Against TAMIU, Moyer scored a career-high 34 points, the second most points in an LSC game this season. She made a career-best 12 field goals with seven three-pointers and played every minute for the Pioneers in the win over the Dustdevils. Moyer helped guide the Pioneers to a 29-point win over the Javelina with 14 points while shooting 54.5%.
DEFENSIVE
Reese Schumann, Lubbock Christian, SO, Exercise Science / Pre-Nursing, Forward, Houston, Texas, Clear Lake HS
It was a solid week for Reese Schumann, who helped LCU with home wins over Eastern New Mexico and Western New Mexico with 10 blocks and an average of 11.5 points per game. Schumann opened the week going 5-of-5 from the field and finishing with a career-high 13 points and four blocks against ENMU. She followed with a career-high six blocks and had eight rebounds and 10 points against WNMU. She posted five of her six blocks in the opening quarter, which was more than the number of field goals (4) allowed in the quarter. The six blocks match the most in the LSC this season as Schumann moved up to 18th nationally in blocks on the season with 30. She helped LCU hold opponents to a 30.2% field goal percentage and scoring average of 52.5.
