Eastern New Mexico, Oklahoma Christian, Texas A&M-Kingsville, and West Texas A&M each went 2-0 in Lone Star Conference games last week.
LSC games continue with each team playing a double round-robin schedule within their eight-team division. Additionally, teams will play eight crossover contests against teams from the opposite division for a total of 22 conference games.
The LSC Men’s Basketball Championship will feature an eight-team field in 2023 with seeding based on the 22 conference games. The divisional winners will receive the top two seeds in the tournament. The championships are set to take place March 2-3-4-5, 2023, at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.
LSC men’s basketball teams are 121-84 overall and 17-17 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, the other league in the South Central Region.

OFFENSIVE
Greg Johnson, Eastern New Mexico, JR, General Studies, Guard, Little Rock, Ark., Little Rock Hall HS
Johnson led the Greyhound offense in victories over UT Permian Basin and Angelo State. He had a season-best and game-high 24 points in win over UTPB as he shot 70% from the field including 5-of-6 from behind the arc. Facing ASU, he had a game-best 20 points including a perfect 8-for-8 at the charity stripe. For the week, averaged 22 points while shooting 60% overall, 58.3% for three’s and 92.9% from the free-throw line.
DEFENSIVE
Rowan Mackenzie, Lubbock Christian, JR, Social Work, Guard, Perth, Australia, Aquinas College
In the first game of the week against Cameron, Mackenzie had four steals and had a career-high two blocks against the Aggies, holding CU to just 26.7 percent from three as the Chaps scored 22 points off turnovers. He scored 28 points, shooting 75 percent from the floor and going a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Against Midwestern State, Mackenzie had two steals.
