Angelo State, Texas Woman's, and UT Tyler each went 2-0 in Lone Star Conference contests last week.
LSC games continue this week with each team playing a double round-robin schedule within their eight-team division. Additionally, teams will play eight crossover competitions against teams from the opposite division for a total of 22 conference games.
The LSC Women’s Basketball Championship will feature an eight-team field in 2023 with seeding based on the 22 conference games. The divisional winners will receive the top two seeds in the tournament. The championships are set to take place March 2-3-4-5, 2023, at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.
LSC women’s basketball teams are 127-107 overall and 22-16 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, the other league in the South Central Region.

OFFENSIVE
Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant, Angelo State, JR, Kinesiology, Forward, Amarillo, Texas, Tascosa HS
McGhee-Pleasant averaged a double-double as the Rambelles went 2-0 to improve to 8-1 in LSC action. The junior started the week with a season high 22 points, 12 rebounds, four blocks, and four steals against West Texas A&M. McGhee-Pleasant followed that up by hitting a game winner against LCU with under a second remaining. She scored 16 points and pulled in 11 rebounds in the contest.
DEFENSIVE
Sawyer Lloyd, Angelo State, JR, Exercise Science, Guard, Wall, Texas, Wall HS
Rambelles guard Sawyer Lloyd once again showed her defensive prowess as the Rambelles went 2-0 defeating West Texas A&M and Lubbock Christian. Against the Lady Buffs, Lloyd had eight points, eight assists, four steals, and two rebounds to help hold WT to a season-low 21.9% from the field. The Wall native followed that up with five points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, six steals, and a block against the Lady Chaps, who shot a season-low 29.5%. Lloyd averaged five steals on the week and now is the sole LSC leader in steals, averaging 3.1 per game.
