All 16 Lone Star Conference women's basketball teams will be in action Friday and Saturday, getting a look at South Central Region competition from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  ...  The opening weekend of the 2023-24 season had the LSC posting a 12-8 record against NCAA Division II opponents in D2CCA Tipoff Classic tournaments played in Montana, British Columbia, and Lubbock, Texas, November 3-4-5.

Forward Ashley Ingram's hot shooting helped lead Texas Woman's to a 3-0 opening weekend, including wins against No. 15 Montana State Billings and No. 2 Minnesota State Mankato. Ingram finished the three-game stretch shooting .862 from the field (25-of-29) and .889 at the line (16-of-18). Ingram tallied her 14th career double-double – 29 points, 11 rebounds -- against MSU Mankato. The junior was named Most Valuable Player of the the D2CCA Tipoff Classic site in Billings.
 
DEFENSIVE
Ngozi Obineke, Texas A&M International, Forward, Grad Student, MBA, Rowlett, Texas (Rowlett HS)
Forward Ngozi Obineke led the Texas A&M International defense in its three-win opening weekend in Vancouver, B.C., as the Dustdevils held their opponents to .385 field goal shooting and outscored the trio -- Alaska-Fairbanks, Central Washington and Simon Fraser -- an average 20.3 points per game. Obineke averaged 7.7 rebounds and scored 39 points in the tournament.
