LSC Men's Basketball Weekly Release - Week 6

The Lone Star Conference men’s basketball schedule opened on Nov. 30. Of the 16 LSC teams, four remain unbeaten in league play – all West Division teams: Angelo State (4-0), Eastern New Mexico (4-0), Lubbock Christian (3-0) and West Texas A&M (3-0).
 
DBU has the league’s top-scoring offense (95.4 points per game), while UT Permian Basin is tops in the conference by allowing just 64.8 points per game.

OFFENSIVE
Jahcoree Ealy, Eastern New Mexico, G, Sr., University Studies, Conway, Ark. (Guy Perkins HS)
Ealy averaged 36.5 points, 4.5 steals and 2.5 assists to lead Eastern New Mexico to league road wins over UT Tyler and nationally-ranked DBU. Ealy, who wins the LSC’s top weekly offensive award for the second consecutive week, added six rebounds and one block. He shot 67.7 percent from the field and made 24 of 32 free throws. His 42 points against DBU – which helped deal the Patriots their first loss of the season – was a career high and the most in a single game in the LSC since the 2021-22 season. Ealy has three of the top four single-game scoring highs in the conference this season – all have come over his last three games (31, 31 and 42).
 
DEFENSIVE
Lathaniel Bastian, UT Permian Basin, F, Gr., MBA, Nassau, Bahamas (Doris Johnson Senior)
Bastian pulled down 18 defensive rebounds, blocked three shots and helped UT Permian Basin hold opponents to a 67.5 scoring average over a 2-0 week. Bastian averaged 13 points and 14.5 rebounds – his third straight double double and sixth on the season – in wins over Oklahoma Christian and UAFS. He also added a steal.
