The 2024 LSC Indoor Track and Field Athletes to Watch lists will be released the first week of January.
The 2024 LSC Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held Feb. 23-24 at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Okla. West Texas A&M is the defending conference champion on the men’s and women’s side.

MEN’S TRACK
William Amponsah, West Texas A&M, Jr., Sports and Exercise Science, Agona Swedru, Central, Ghana
Amponsah broke a West Texas A&M school record in the 5,000-meter with a 13:53.98 to win the Crimson & Gold Invitational at Robert W. Plaster Center in Pittsburg, Kan. The time is the fifth fastest in all of NCAA Division II this season and also earned him a provisional mark.
MEN’S FIELD
Luke Holcombe, West Texas A&M, Jr., Biology, Floydada, Texas (FHS)
Holcombe broke a West Texas A&M shot put record with a throw of 18.85m (58’ 6.75”) at the Crimson & Gold Invitational at Robert W. Plaster Center in Pittsburg, Kan. The toss earned him a third-place finish at the event and also a NCAA Division II provisional mark. His throw ranks fifth in all of NCAA Division II.
WOMEN’S TRACK
Grizell Scarlett, Eastern New Mexico, Fr., Business Administration, Kingston, Jamaica
Scarlett won the 60-meters at the J.D. Martin Invitational at Mosier Indoor Facility in Norman, Okla. with an Eastern New Mexico record 7.46. Her time is a NCAA Division II provisional mark and a top-10 result in the country. She topped five Oklahoma athletes in the finals, winning by 0.05 seconds.
WOMEN’S FIELD
Maricia Spence, Angelo State, Jr., Economics, Christiana, Jamaica (Holmwood Technical HS)
Spence set a new Angelo State and Lone Star Conference record in the pentathlon at the Crimson & Gold Invitational at Robert W. Plaster Center in Pittsburg, Kan. Spence totaled 4,112 points to win the event and ranks first in all of NCAA Division II this season. Her total was also good for seventh on the all-time Division II charts. Spence collected four NCAA Division II provisional marks on the day (also 60-meter hurdles, long jump and shot put).
