LSC Women's Basketball Weekly Release - Week 7

 
Teams close out their pre-holiday break schedules with a smattering of games Monday and Tuesday (Dec. 18-19), including a pair of LSC match-ups: Cameron at Midwestern State (Dec. 18) and UAFS at Oklahoma Christian (Dec. 19). After a nine-day break, the 2023 portion of the 2023-24 season resumes December 28.

OFFENSIVE
Grace Foster, Lubbock Christian, F, Jr., Criminal Justice, Childress, Texas (Childress HS)
Grace Foster led Lubbock Christian to a win in its last pre-break game. The forward posted a game-high 21 points marking the second consecutive game and 19th time in her career in which she recorded at least 20 points. Foster was 7-of-14 from the field, including 3-of-6 from three-point range, and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. On the defensive end, she led LCU with eight rebounds -- seven on the defensive end -- and was a plus/minus of +18.
 
DEFENSIVE
Nyalam Thabach, West Texas A&M, C, Sr., Sports & Exercise Science, Boise, Idaho (Borah HS)
Nyalam Thabach led West Texas A&M to three victories over the week, including a 59-58 win vs. #16 MSU-Billings at the Daytona Beach Shootout. The senior center controlled the boards, collecting 28 defensive rebounds among her 32 total (10.7 ave.), while adding two blocks and a steal. For the week, Thabach averaged 11.7 points, shooting 40 percent from the floor (14-of-35) and 70 percent at the line (7-of-10). In the Lady Buffs' LSC win over the Texas A&M International, Thabach notched her third double-double of the season with 14 points and 16 rebounds.
