LSC Men's Basketball Weekly Release - Week 15

Angelo State, Eastern New Mexico, Lubbock Christian, Texas A&M International, Texas A&M-Kingsville and West Texas A&M were each unbeaten in Lone Star Conference games last week.
 
      The LSC regular season – featuring 22 conference games – comes to a close on Saturday.
 
      The LSC Men’s Basketball Championship will feature an eight-team field in 2023 with seeding based on the 22 conference games. The divisional winners will receive the top two seeds in the tournament. The championships are set to take place March 2-3-4-5, 2023, at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.
 
      LSC men’s basketball teams are 17-17 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, the other league in the South Central Region.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Rowan Mackenzie, Lubbock Christian, JR, Social Work, Guard, Perth, Australia, Aquinas College
Mackenzie averaged 20.5 points, seven rebounds and four assists to fuel two conference home wins for Lubbock Christian. Mackenzie posted a double double (20 points and 10 rebounds) – his third of the season – in a victory against St. Mary’s. In a win over St. Edwards, Mackenzie shot 53.8 percent from the field and went 4-for-7 from 3-point range.
 
DEFENSIVE
Errol White, Eastern New Mexico, SO, Communications, Forward, Queens, N.Y., Benjamin N. Cardozo HS
White helped Eastern New Mexico win two straight games on the road for the first time since the 2017-18 season. He led a unit that forced 40 turnovers, held opponents to 60.5 points per game and just 38.2 percent shooting. White logged two blocks, two steals and pulled down nine defensive rebounds. He also chipped in eight points per game against Oklahoma Christian and Arkansas-Fort Smith.
