LSC Baseball Weekly Release - Week 3

LSC teams are currently playing a single round-robin schedule with a four-game weekend series against each league opponent.
 
      The LSC Championship will feature a two-week tournament comprised of the top eight teams with the opening round at on-campus sites May 5-7. The winners of each opening round series will advance to a double-elimination tournament played May 11-13. The winner of the postseason tournament will be recognized as the LSC Tournament Champion and receive the conference’s automatic qualifier to the NCAA postseason.
 
      In the NCAA Division II South Central Region, LSC teams are 2-0 combined versus Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference competition.
 
BASEBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
HITTER
Jordan Williams, Angelo State, SR, Business, INF, Round Rock, Texas, RRHS
Williams set Angelo State’s all-time hits record in style by batting .533 with two home runs, one double and seven RBIs. Williams, who now sits at 250 career hits, did not strike out and walked three times. He also scored six runs and stole a base as the nationally-ranked Rams took three games against UT Permian Basin. Williams had a 4-for-4 game in a 6-5 win.
 
PITCHER
Kobe Jaramillo, Texas A&M-Kingsville, JR, Kinesiology, RHP, Bishop, Texas, BHS
Jaramillo tossed a nine-inning, complete-game shutout in a series-opening 2-0 win against Eastern New Mexico. The right-hander did not walk a batter and struck out seven to fuel Texas A&M-Kingsville’s first nine-inning shutout since 2021.
