In the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Top 25 poll, defending LSC tournament champion MSU is ranked No. 4 while defending LSC regular season champion St. Mary’s (5-2-1) is No. 18. The two teams squared off in San Antonio last week with MSU winning 2-1.

OFFENSIVE

Escobar extended his LSC record goal streak to eight consecutive matches while helping No. 5 Midwestern State to wins over No. 16 St. Mary’s and West Texas A&M. Escobar had the game-winner in both matches. Against WT, Escobar had the only goal of the match. He leads all of NCAA Division II with 10 goals and 24 points this season.
DEFENSIVE
Felix Drizinsky, Eastern New Mexico, So., Marketing, D, Essen, Germany, Carl-Human Gymnasium
Drizinsky helped fuel an unbeaten week against DBU and Texas A&M International. He spearheaded a unit that recorded its first shutout of the season in a 1-0 road win against DBU. Then Drizinsky scored a goal in a 1-1 draw against TAMIU and helped hold the Dustdevils to a season-low five shots on goal.
GOALKEEPER
Hugo Sacco, Eastern New Mexico, Fr., Business Administration, GK, Marseille, France
Sacco allowed just one goal over two starts and kept Eastern New Mexico unbeaten against DBU and Texas A&M International. He saved seven shots over 180 minutes. Against DBU, he earned the Greyhounds’ first shutout of the season in a 1-0 match. Against TAMIU, he made three saves in a 1-1 tie against a team that had scored 27 goals over its first six matches.
