Of the 16 Lone Star Conference men’s basketball teams, only one remains unbeaten in league play: West Texas A&M (8-0). DBU and Lubbock Christian are each 7-1. To see conference-only standings (which determine the seeding of the LSC Basketball Championship), click here.
 
WT is on a league-best 11-game winning streak, while DBU has won six consecutive contests.
 
UT Permian Basin (8-0) and ASU (6-0) are unbeaten on their home courts. WT is 9-0 away from home, while DBU is 7-0.
 
DBU has the league’s top-scoring offense (92.2 points per game), while Texas A&M International is tops in the conference by allowing just 65.9 points per game.
 
Individually, ENMU’s Jahcoree Ealy leads the league in scoring at 22 points per game, followed by DBU’s Cameron Kahn (20.5) and Western New Mexico’s Cortaviaus Seales (19.8). UTPB’s Lathaniel Bastian is pulling down a league-high 10.9 rebounds per game. Midwestern State’s Pierre Sanders is the assists leader (5.4 per game) and teammate Duncan Alevok has the most blocked shots (30). Texas A&M-Kingsville’s C.J. Smith averages a league-high two steals per game.
 
LSC teams carry a combined 42-33 (.560) record against NCAA Division II non-conference opponents through games of Dec. 19. Region-by-region: South Central (RMAC) 21-20; Atlantic 1-0; Central 13-8; East 1-0; Midwest 1-1; South 2-0; Southeast 1-0; and West 2-4.
 
The LSC Basketball Championship will again be held at Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas. The men’s field will be compiled of the top eight teams, based on conference-only standings. Division champions will automatically qualify for the LSC tournament, but are not guaranteed a top 2 seed. The men’s games will be held March 7 (quarterfinals), 9 (semifinals) and 10 (final).

OFFENSIVE
Greg Johnson, Eastern New Mexico, G, Sr., University Studies, Little Rock, Ark. (Little Rock Hall HS)
Johnson helped fuel Eastern New Mexico to a 2-0 week by pouring in a single-game, career-high 39 points and averaging six rebounds and 4.5 assists and one steal. Johnson’s 39 points against Midwestern State is the second highest, single-game total in the LSC this season. On the week, he shot 64 percent from the field and made six of nine 3-point attempts. He was 7-for-7 on free throws and added one block. His play helped the Greyhounds to their top two scoring outputs of the season (105 against Cameron and 108 against MSU).
 
 
DEFENSIVE
Cameron Bush, UAFS, G, Sr., Organizational Leadership, Little Rock, Ark. (Robinson HS)
Bush helped UAFS to a 2-0 week – also its first league wins of the season – against Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas A&M International by averaging 4.5 steals and totaling eight defensive rebounds and one block. He led a unit that held opponents to 57 points per game and 36 percent shooting. Bush averaged 10 points, six rebounds and 1.5 assists. His six-steal game against TAMUK is tied for the second highest single-game total in the LSC this season.
