Big games in the East Division loom as the top four teams – UT Tyler, Texas A&M International, Texas Woman's and Texas A&M-Kingsville – face off in games scheduled Thursday and Saturday (Jan. 18, 20) that may shake up the division standings. TAMIU is at UTT for a Thursday meeting of co-East Division leaders before heading to TWU on Saturday. East Division #4 TAMUK is at #3 TWU Thursday and makes a trip to UTT on Saturday.  ...  UTT leads all LSC teams with a 9-0 record in overall LSC games.
 
Last weekend saw the top three West Division teams square-off (Lubbock Christian, UT Permian Basin and Angelo State), and the coming week features UT Permian Basin and Angelo State, both locked at second in the West, looking to improve their position in the standings with road games against Midwestern State and Cameron. Division-leading LCU faces the New Mexico duo, playing at Eastern New Mexico Thursday and Western New Mexico Saturday.

LSC Tournament: Eight teams advance to the 2024 LSC Women's Basketball Tournament scheduled March 8-10 at Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas. The tournament bracket will be announced March 2 following conclusion of the LSC season. To the tournament winner goes the league’s automatic berth in the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championship.

OFFENSIVE
Grace Foster, Lubbock Christian, F, Jr., Criminal Justice, Childress, Texas (Childress HS)
Junior Grace Foster helped Lubbock Christian to a pair of West Division wins as LCU defeated UT Permian Basin and Angelo State to remain undefeated in the West (4-0) and move to third in overall LSC games (7-1). In the overtime win vs. UTPB, Foster scored 23 points after the third quarter finishing with 36 points -- the LSC single-game high in 2023-24. The forward nailed two three points in the final two minutes, including one with 19 seconds left that forced overtime, finishing 16-of-17 from the field and 4-of-5 from three-point range. Against Angelo State, Foster registered her first double-double of the season: 21 points and a season-high 10 rebounds. She averaged 28.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.5 assists on the week.
 
DEFENSIVE
Raiana Brown, Texas A&M International, F, Sr., Interdisciplinary Studies, Wheatley Heights, N.Y. (North Babylon HS)
Raiana Brown's defensive efforts helped #21 Texas A&M International force 44 turnovers over the two road wins, 20 against UAFS and 24 against Oklahoma Christian. Brown collected 16 rebounds, 9 steals (4.5 apg), 9 assists (4.5 apg), and a blocked shot in addition to scoring 37 points (18.5 ppg) as the Dustdevils remained perfect in LSC East Division play (5-0) and fourth in overall LSC standings (7-2).
