Of the 16 Lone Star Conference men’s basketball teams, only one remains unbeaten in league play: West Texas A&M (10-0). DBU is 9-1, followed by Lubbock Christian (8-2) and Eastern New Mexico (7-3). here. WT (West) and DBU (East) are both leading division play at 6-0.
WT is on a league-best 13-game winning streak, while DBU has won eight consecutive contests. Cameron and St. Mary’s have each won three straight games.
UT Permian Basin (8-0) and ASU (6-0) are unbeaten on their home courts. WT is 11-0 away from home, while DBU is 7-0.
DBU has the league’s top-scoring offense (92.9 points per game), while UT Permian Basin is tops in the conference by allowing just 66.6 points per game.
Individually, ENMU’s Jahcoree Ealy leads the league in scoring at 21.4 points per game, followed by DBU’s Cameron Kahn (20.9) and West Texas A&M’s Larry Wise (19.1). UTPB’s Lathaniel Bastian is pulling down a league-high 10.8 rebounds per game, followed by St. Mary’s Lachlan Bofinger (9.3) and LCU’s Tiras Morton (8.2). Midwestern State’s Pierre Sanders is the assists leader (5.4 per game) and teammate Duncan Alevok has the most blocked shots (31). Texas A&M-Kingsville’s C.J. Smith averages a league-high 2.1 steals per game.
LSC teams carry a combined 42-33 (.560) record against NCAA Division II non-conference opponents through games of Jan. 20. Region-by-region: South Central (RMAC) 21-20; Atlantic 1-0; Central 13-8; East 1-0; Midwest 1-1; South 2-0; Southeast 1-0; and West 2-4.
The LSC Basketball Championship will again be held at Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas. The men’s field will be compiled of the top eight teams, based on conference-only standings. Division champions will automatically qualify for the LSC tournament, but are not guaranteed a top 2 seed. The men’s games will be held March 7 (quarterfinals), 9 (semifinals) and 10 (final).

LONE STAR CONFERENCE MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Games Jan. 18-20
OFFENSIVE
Larry Wise, West Texas A&M., G, Sr., Sports Management, Waxahachie, Texas (WHS)
Wise averaged 24 points, seven rebounds and 3.5 assists to lead nationally-ranked West Texas A&M to a pair of conference road wins over Western New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico. Wise, who also added one steal, was 7-for-12 from 3-point range. One of his triples came in the final minute against WNMU to secure an 89-87 victory. Wise, who won the league’s top weekly defensive award earlier this season, helped the Buffs extend their winning streak to 13 games.
DEFENSIVE
Cameron Kahn, DBU, G, Sr., Sports Management, Sulphur Springs, Texas (SSHS)
Kahn totaled eight steals, nine defensive rebounds and a block to lift nationally-ranked DBU to conference wins over Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas A&M International. Kahn also averaged 23.5 points and three assists over the victories that extended the Patriots’ winning streak to eight games. Kahn, who takes the league’s top weekly defensive award for the second time this season, had a double double (28 points and 11 boards) against Texas A&M-Kingsville.
