LSC Indoor Track and Field Weekly Release - Week 4

Lone Star Conference men’s and women’s indoor track and field athletes have recorded 107 NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks (48 men and 59 women). To see the conference’s men’s and women’s performance lists, click here.

The 2024 LSC Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held Feb. 23-24 at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Okla. West Texas A&M is the defending conference champion on the men’s and women’s side.

MEN’S TRACK
Nathaniel Luna, Lubbock Christian, So., Undecided, Brownfield, Texas, BHS
Luna broke two Lubbock Christian records at the New Mexico Team Open in Albuquerque, N.M with NCAA Division II provisional marks. He ran a 6.79 in the 60-meters – taking first place – and a 21.27 in the 200-meters. LCU’s 200 record had stood since 1995. His 200 time is also tops in the conference this season and sixth in the country.
 
MEN’S FIELD
Jacobee Jones, Angelo State, Sr., Health Science Professions, Rowlett, Texas, Sachse HS
Jones had an NCAA Division II provisional mark in the pole vault with a 4.93m (16’-2”) at the Pittsburg State Invite in Pittsburg, Kan. The Angelo State senior’s mark is tops in the LSC this season and ranks 16th in the country.
 
WOMEN’S TRACK
Maricia Spence, Angelo State. Sr., Economics, Christiana, Jamaica, Holmwood Technical HS
Spence posted three NCAA Division II provisional marks at the Pittsburg State Invite in Pittsburg, Kan. The Angelo State senior ran an 8.52 in the 60-meter hurdles – tops in the LSC this season and sixth in the country. She was also part of the Rambelles’ 4x400-meter relay team, which won the event with a meet-record 3:34.31. It is also the second fastest time in the country this season. In addition, Spence won the long jump with a mark of 19-0.5 (5.80m).

WOMEN’S FIELD
Abby Zamzow, Angelo State, Gr., Exercise Science, Bowie, Texas, BHS
Zamzow posted a top-3 finish with a 12.07m (39’-7.25”) in the triple jump at the Pittsburg State Invite in Pittsburg, Kan. The Angelo State graduate student now has the top mark in the conference this season. He NCAA Division II provisional mark also ranks 11th in the country.
