Of the 16 Lone Star Conference men’s basketball teams, two remain unbeaten in league play – both West Division teams: Angelo State (7-0) and West Texas A&M (6-0). To see conference-only standings, click

ASU is on a league-best 11-game winning streak, while WT has won nine straight games. DBU has won four consecutive contests, followed by St. Edward’s and UT Permian Basin (three each).
UT Permian Basin (8-0) and ASU (6-0) are unbeaten on their home courts. WT is 9-0 away from home, while DBU is 5-0.
DBU has the league’s top-scoring offense (93.3 points per game), while UTPB is tops in the conference by allowing just 65 points per game.
Individually, ENMU’s Jahcoree Ealy leads the league in scoring at 23.7 points per game, while UTPB’s Lathaniel Bastian is pulling down a league-high 11.3 rebounds per game. Midwestern State’s Pierre Sanders is the assists leader (5.6 per game) and teammate Duncan Alevok has the most blocked shots (28). Texas A&M-Kingsville’s C.J. Smith averages a league-high 2.2 steals per game.
LSC teams carry a combined 42-33 (.560) record against NCAA Division II non-conference opponents through games of Dec. 19. Region-by-region: South Central (RMAC) 21-20; Atlantic 1-0; Central 13-8; East 1-0; Midwest 1-1; South 2-0; Southeast 1-0; and West 2-4.
The LSC Basketball Championship will again be held at Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas. The men’s field will be compiled of the top eight teams, based on conference-only standings. Division champions will automatically qualify for the LSC tournament, but are not guaranteed a top 2 seed. The men’s games will be held March 7 (quarterfinals), 9 (semifinals) and 10 (final).

OFFENSIVE
Kevon Godwin, Angelo State, G, Sr., Interdisciplinary Studies, Blountstown, Fla. (BHS)
Godwin averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists to help nationally-ranked Angelo State defeat Western New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico and extend its winning streak to a league-best 11 games. Godwin, who is the LSC Preseason Player of the Year, hit eight 3-pointers and made nine of his 10 free-throw attempts. He also had three steals. Godwin had a 20-point, seven-assist performance in an 88-85 win over ENMU, which had won six of its last seven games.
DEFENSIVE
Lathaniel Bastian, UT Permian Basin, F, Gr., MBA, Nassau, Bahamas (Doris Johnson Senior)
Bastian totaled six blocks and pulled down 12 defensive rebounds to help UT Permian Basin to a 2-0 week against Eastern New Mexico and Western New Mexico. Bastian, who wins the league’s top weekly defensive award for the second time this season, also had one steal. He averaged 16 points on 59.1 percent shooting and added four assists. In a 79-76 win over ENMU – winners of six straight games – Bastian had a line of 26 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks. His play helped the Falcons to their second best start in program history at 10-3.
