West Texas A&M races past Eastern New Mexico to reclaim Wagon Wheel, 42-24: West Texas A&M scored 36 unanswered points on Saturday afternoon as it picked up a 42-24 victory over rival Eastern New Mexico to win the 36th Wagon Wheel Game at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium in Portales, N.M. The Buffs trailed 17-6 with 10:44 left in the second quarter. WT’s Kanon Gibson threw for 200 yards and a touchdown and Tre'Jon Henderson ran for 173 yards and two scores. Defensively, JT Cavender registered 15 tackles – seven solo – with a sack to lead the Buffs. Complete Release

 
Western Oregon keeps rolling with 30-27 overtime win at UT Permian Basin: Western Oregon rallied from an early deficit and a late deficit to secure a 30-27 overtime victory over defending LSC champion UT Permian Basin on Saturday at Astound Broadband Stadium. It was the Wolves' fifth win in a row to move to 5-0 in conference play. In overtime, Keaton Emmett drilled his third field goal – this time from 29 yards out – to win it for the Wolves. Dominique Loggins ran for 137 yards on 25 carries and Damon Hickok caught five passes for 72 yards and a score to lead WOU. Tyler Copeland had an interception for WOU, who trailed 14-0 after the first quarter. The Wolves were trailing 27-20 until Jordan McCasrty tied it up with a 3-yard TD run with 2:48 left in regulation. Complete Release

 
No. 21 Central Washington shuts out Texas A&M-Kingsville on the road, 31-0: No. 21 Central Washington didn't hesitate in securing its second shutout of the season in a 31-0 victory at Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday evening. After a scoreless first quarter, CWU built a 14-0 lead by halftime with a pair of Kennedy McGill touchdown passes. McGill finished 10 of 12 for 193 yards and four TDs – two to Darrien Gaines. He also ran for 81 yards on 16 carries. On defense, Daniel Matagi had three sacks, a forced fumble and four tackles for a loss of 28 yards. Brycen Indell also had a sack and Daniel Mendoza had an interception as CWU allowed just 129 yards of total offense. Complete Release

 
Sul Ross State notches first LSC win on homecoming over Western New Mexico, 34-20: It was a night to remember for the Sul Ross State football program. On Saturday night during homecoming at Jackson Field, the Lobos notched their first LSC win as well as their first victory over a Division II opponent by defeating Western New Mexico, 34-20, to claim the Golden Tumbleweed Trophy. SRSU quarterback Andrew Martinez threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns and wide receiver Austin Ogunmakin had 10 catches for 167 yards and a score. Quincy Blair had 10 tackles, a forced fumble and an interception to lead the Lobos on defense. SRSU kept WNMU off the scoreboard in the second and third quarters to build a 21-10 lead. Angelo State stays unbeaten in league play with 44-7 win over Midwestern State: Angelo State kept its win streak going on Saturday as the Rams defeated Midwestern State 44-7 at Memorial Stadium. The victory moves the Rams to 5-2 overall on the year as they remain undefeated in LSC play at 5-0. ASU built a 34-0 lead at halftime. Braeden Fuller passed for 164 yards and a touchdown and ran for 47 yards and another score. Jordan McKinney (team-high seven tackles), Zach Burton and Eric Rascoe each had a sack and Xavier Walton had an interception to lead the Rams on defense. Complete Release
