Eastern New Mexico wins Chile Bowl over Western New Mexico, 41-34: For the first time since 2021, the Chile Bowl is back in Portales after Eastern New Mexico beat in-state foe Western New Mexico, 41-34, Saturday afternoon. ENMU dominated in the ground game, totaling 495 total yards to aid the program's 44th all-time victory over WNMU. Ron Crated ran for 216 yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries. Jarius Stewart, Chad Ragle and Azorion Sterling also found the end zone on the ground. WNMU’s Josh Magana threw for 274 yards and five TDs – four to Deuce Zimmerman (11 catches for 124 yards). Matthew Quartieri had 13 tackles for ENMU, while Cole Lalama had 17 for WNMU. The Greyhounds led 41-20 with 12:45 left to play before the Mustangs had a pair of Magana-to-Zimmerman TDs.

Texas A&M-Kingsville hands Western Oregon first conference loss of the year, 21-14: Texas A&M-Kingsville got back in the win column by beating Western Oregon, 21-14, at McArthur Stadium on Saturday. The Javelinas dealt the Wolves (now 5-1 in LSC play) their first conference loss of the season. TAMUK defensive end Demarcus Hendricks racked up six tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble that he recovered. Linebacker Jacob Montes added 10 tackles, recovered a fumble and broke up two passes. Javelinas quarterback Jalen Brown stepped up after trailing 7-0, throwing two straight touchdowns and finishing with 276 yards – 107 to Vance Brazile on two catches. Brazile became the first TAMUK tight end with more than 100 yards receiving in more than a decade.

Angelo State extends winning streak to six games with 57-10 homecoming victory over Sul Ross State: Angelo State celebrated Homecoming with a 57-10 win over Sul Ross State on Saturday night at LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field. The Rams, who have won six in a row, are now 6-2 overall and 6-0 in LSC play – the only team unbeaten in league play. ASU’s Braden Fuller was 17 of 23 passing for 287 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions. Jayden Jones and Cameron Dischler ran for two scores each. Dischler also caught Fuller’s TD pass. Eric Rascoe returned an INT 26 yards for a score in the first quarter to give the Rams their first lead. ASU, who held the Lobos to 39 rushing yards, built up a 36-10 lead at halftime. Quincy Blair had 14 tackles for SRSU.

Early offense, timely takeaways power UT Permian Basin to road win over West Texas A&M, 21-7: UT Permian scored on its first three possessions and its defense forced three turnovers as the Falcons took down West Texas A&M, 21-7, on Saturday for the program’s first win in Canyon, Texas. The game featured no scores in the second half. UTPB’s Ben Patterson caught four passes for 161 yards and the game’s first TD from Isaac Mooring, who also ran for a score. Tyler Cleveland had the Falcons’ other TD, a 17-yard run. WT made it 7-7 in the first quarter on a Kanan Gibson 33-yard pass to Zorian Stanton. Tristan Exline had 12 tackles, Dante Heaggans had two interceptions and Yemi Oyesanya had a sack and a forced fumble to lead the Falcons’ defense. WT’s Zach Schlager had 19 tackles – the most in a single game in the LSC this season – and JT Cavender added 11.

Volk, No. 20 Central Washington defeats Midwestern State, 42-21: Tanner Volk had three interceptions and No. 20-ranked Central Washington earned its second-straight victory defeating Midwestern State 42-21 in front of a Homecoming crowd Saturday evening. Volk, the reigning Division II defensive player of the year, had one pick in the first quarter and two in the second to help the Wildcats build a 21-7 halftime lead. The three picks is the most in a single game in the LSC since the 2021 season and only the second time it has happened in more than 10 years. He also made three tackles. Kennedy McGill passed for 223 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 96 yards and two more scores to lead CWU on offense. Tyler Flanagan added 111 yards and two TDs on 15 carries as the Wildcats totaled 480 offensive yards. Matthew Duncan threw three TD passes for MSU, who got nine tackles from Braden Robinson.
