The 2024-25 Lone Star Conference men’s basketball season is officially underway for all 16 league teams.
 
Three LSC teams are still unbeaten: No. 3 West Texas A&M (3-0), Texas A&M-Kingsville (2-0) and Oklahoma Christian (1-0). No. 5 DBU and St. Edward’s (receiving votes) have already racked up four wins.
 
Lubbock Christian had a top-10 victory on the road last week against No. 8 Colorado School of Mines, 89-78. SEU (No. 21 Colorado Mesa), DBU (No. 21 Colorado Mesa) and Angelo State (No. 22 Fort Lewis) also had wins against nationally-ranked competition.
 
WT is scoring a league-high 89 points per game, while TAMUK is allowing a league-best 51 points per game.
 
WT’s Ahamed Mohammed (32) and DBU’s Ricky Lujan (30) have the only 30-point games so far.
 
Mohammed is averaging a league-high 22.7 points per game. More league stat leaders include: Cameron’s Jaxon Ingram (12 rebounds pg), Cameron’s Regie Prudhomme (five assists pg) and Eastern New Mexico’s Jose Murillo (two blocks pg). Five players are tied with three steals per game.

OFFENSIVE
Gavino Ramos, St. Edward’s, G, Sr., Kinesiology, San Antonio, Texas
St. Edward’s senior guard Gavin Ramos averaged 24.5 points, three rebounds and 2.5 assists to fuel a pair of wins on the road against No. 21 Colorado Mesa and Colorado Christian. Ramos poured in a career-high 28 points against Colorado Christian. He added three steals on the week and went 17-for-20 from the free-throw line. Ramos hit eight 3-pointers and helped the Hilltoppers to a 4-1 start to the season.
 
DEFENSIVE
Ricky Lujan, DBU, G, Sr., Business Management, Las Cruces, N.M.
DBU senior guard Ricky Lujan had eight steals to help the No. 5-ranked Patriots to a pair of road wins over Colorado Christian and No. 21 Colorado Mesa. Lujan also had one block, three defensive rebounds and averaged a team-high 13.5 points per game. His six steals against Colorado Mesa tied for the single game high in the LSC this season. Lujan’s play has helped the Patriots to a 4-1 start to the season.
