The regular season of Lone Star Conference football is complete.
 
In Week 11, LSC champion No. 23 Angelo State (9-2 overall) completed a perfect run through league play, going 9-0. No. 25 Central Washington (8-3 overall) claimed the runner-up spot at 7-2. Midwestern State, Texas A&M-Kingsville and UT Permian Basin also finished the regular season with a victory. UTPB finished with three consecutive wins. To read the recaps, click here.
 
Advancing to the NCAA Division II National Championship playoffs will be ASU and CWU. ASU is a No. 3 seed and will host Bemidji State at 1st Community Credit Union Field at LeGrand Stadium in San Angelo, Texas. CWU will travel to Mojo Field in Gunnison, Colo. to face No. 2 seed Western Colorado. Both games will kick off Saturday (Nov. 23) at 1 p.m. local time. In the most recent national polls, ASU is ranked No. 16, CWU is No. 19, Western Colorado is No. 10 and Bemidji State is receiving votes. To see the complete playoff bracket, click here.
 
As far as stats through the regular season, UTPB led the league with 428.9 yards of offense per game, followed by CWU (415.8 ypg) and Eastern New Mexico (401.2 ypg). UTPB scored a conference-best 34.5 points per game and found the end zone a league-high 51 times.
 
On the defensive side of the ball, CWU allowed just 210.5 yards per game and had three shutouts – both league highs. ASU (265.2.2 ypg) and UTPB (275.5) also held opponents under 300 yards per game. CWU had the LSC’s top scoring defense at 11.3 points per game. CWU and ASU tied for the fewest TDs allowed (16). ASU had league -highs of 26 sacks and 15 interceptions.
 
ASU as the least penalized team in the LSC at 50.8 yards per game.
 
The LSC Football All-Academic Team and All-Conference Teams will be announced on the conference website Thursday (Nov. 21) at 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., respectively.

LONE STAR CONFERENCE FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

OFFENSIVE
Braeden Fuller, Angelo State, QB, Jr., Kinesiology, Floresville, Texas
Angelo State junior quarterback Braeden Fuller accounted for seven touchdowns – four passing and three rushing – to lead the No. 21-ranked Rams to a win over West Texas A&M and complete a perfect run through the conference schedule. Fuller, who wins the league’s top weekly offense award for the fifth time this season and second week in a row, was 13 of 23 passing for 238 yards with no interceptions and totaled 187 rushing yards on 15 carries. He had an 80-yard TD run – his second of 80 yards or better this season – in the first quarter to make it 14-7. Five of his TDs came in the first half to help the Rams build a 35-19 lead at the break. Fuller finished the regular season with 18 TD passes and zero interceptions on 255 attempts.
 
DEFENSIVE
Brycen Indell, Central Washington, LB, So., Clinical Phycology, Eugene, Ore.
Central Washington sophomore linebacker Brycen Indell had 11 tackles – 2.5 for loss – and 1.5 sacks to lead a unit that allowed just 125 yards of total offense in a 13-3 win over Western Oregon. Indell’s tackles for loss went for 12 yards and three of his tackles were solo. His sacks were both on third downs during the second half. Indell and company shut out WOU in the second half and have not allowed a TD in 10 quarters.
 
SPECIAL TEAMS
Cooper Britton, Central Washington, K, Fr., Sport Management, Snoqualmie, Wash.
Central Washington freshman kicker Cooper Britton was 2-for-2 on field goals and added an extra point to help the No. 25-ranked Wildcats to a 13-3 win over Western Oregon. Britton, who wins the league’s top weekly special teams award for the second straight week, made a 22-yrder in the first quarter for the game’s first score then nailed a 26-yarder to give CWU a 6-3 lead late in the third quarter. Britton has not missed a FG in five games played this season.
