Lone Star Conference women’s basketball teams get their first taste of conference play this week with seven league games on the schedule. The Nov. 18 week begins with a handful of non-conference match-ups, including dates with South Central Region rivals from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

OFFENSIVE
J.P. Perkins, St. Edward's, G/F, So., Kinesiology, San Antonio, Texas
Sophomore J.P. Perkins led St. Edward's in a 1-1 week at the Westminster Basketball Invitational. The guard/forward led all players with 21 points, six assists and three steals in a 60-57 win over Westminster, then came back to score 16 points in a loss to No. 21 Colorado Mesa. Perkins averaged 18.5 points shooting .424 from the field while going 7-of-10 at the line in tournament play.
 
DEFENSIVE
Zarria Carter, Midwestern State, F, Sr., Criminal Justice, Mansfield, Texas
Forward Zarria Carter averaged 18.5 points and 12 rebounds to help Midwestern State to a split in last weekend's Ashbrook Classic. The senior logged her third double-double of the year with 22 points and 15 rebounds in a 65-53 win over Rogers State, then went for 15 points and nine rebounds in a 58-52 loss to Central Oklahoma. Carter registered five steals and three blocked shots over the two games leading the Mustangs in limiting the opposition to 26.5-percent shooting and to 58.5 points per game.
