The 2024-25 Lone Star Conference women’s basketball season revs up this weekend with 14 teams scheduled for the South Central Regional Challenge vs. teams from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (Nov. 8-10).  …  Texas A&M International is off after opening the year in Billings, Mont., while OC opens its season Nov. 13 and SRSU gets its first year in Division II underway Nov. 15.  …  Play started for five teams playing in various Nov. 1-3 D2CCA Tipoff Classic tournaments. Texas Woman’s and Lubbock Christian each took a pair of wins while West Texas A&M split games.

OFFENSIVE

Ashley Ingram opened the new season shooting a hot .619 from the field, averaging 17 points and recording eight assists and six steals as #2 Texas Woman’s took wins vs. Missouri Southern and Northwest Missouri at the D2CCA Tipoff Classic (St. Joseph, Mo.). The senior forward finished with a double-double – 11 points and 10 rebounds – against MSSU, then came back in game two with a game-high 23 points.
 
DEFENSIVE
Grace Foster, Lubbock Christian, G/F, Sr., Criminal Justice, Childress, Texas
Senior Grace Foster delivered a standout performance over the weekend, leading Lubbock Christian to a 2-0 start at the D2CCA Tipoff Classic (Canyon, Texas). In the season opening win against Kutztown, Foster had six rebounds and two steals while anchoring a defense that held Kutztown to 32.7 percent shooting from the field. She totaled a game-high 21 points including a 12-of-13 performance at the line. Against Black Hills State, Foster snagged eight rebounds – all defensive – and led scorers with 23 points, including key points in the final quarter to keep the Lady Chaps’ lead intact.
