The Lone Star Conference women's basketball schedule shows games on six of the next seven days before the December 23-January 2 semester break. When competition resumes January 3, it's all LSC for nine weeks leading to March 6 and the opening round of the 2025 LSC Tournament in Frisco, Texas.  ...  Seven conference games are set this week with one on Monday, four on Tuesday and two Thursday; the remaining 11 games are against non-conference opponents.
 
No. 17-ranked UT Tyler and No. 7 Lubbock Christian head to the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic on Thursday and Friday (Dec. 19-20) to challenge a pair of top-ranked Division II opponents – No. 3 Montana State Billings from the GNAC and RV Embry-Riddle from the Sunshine State Conference.  ...  UT Permian Basin and Angelo State see action against South Central Region rivals. UTPB is at UCCS on Thursday (Dec. 19), and ASU makes a Friday-Saturday swing to Colorado School of Mines (Dec. 20) and Colorado Christian (Dec. 21).  ...  Eastern New Mexico (9-1, 4-0 LSC) begins the week with an LSC-best seven-game win streak and undefeated vs. league opponents. 
 
A quartet of teams average better than 70 points a game with ENMU leading LSC scoring average (78.8 ppg) followed by West Texas A&M (71.0 ppg), Oklahoma Christian (70.9 ppg) and UTPB (70.8 ppg). ...  Zarria Carter of Midwestern State (19.3 ppg) and Grace Foster of LCU (18.8 ppg) lead LSC individuals in the scoring column. Carter is the top rebounder averaging 11.4 boards.  ...  St. Edward's guard JP Perkins is atop the LSC assists list, averaging 4.6 per game.
 
The month of November provided opportunity for LSC teams to face South Central Region rivals from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) in matchups that will figure into Division II postseason regional tournament berths. In the 40 LSC vs. RMAC games through December 9, the Lone Star Conference posted a 28-12 (.700) record with four teams unbeaten: LCU (4-0), UT Tyler (3-0), Texas Woman's (3-0) and Eastern New Mexico (3-0).  ...  UTPB and Angelo State have games vs. the RMAC scheduled before the holiday break.

Shelby Ray posted her first double-double of the season and her second career 10-plus point/10-plus rebound/5-plus assist performance to help Texas A&M-Kingsville to an 80-44 home-opening win vs. West Texas A&M. The junior forward's efficient 13 points and five assists led the Javelinas' offense in producing its largest scoring output of the season (80 points), while her 10 defensive rebounds, two steals, and block helped the defense hold WT to its lowest scoring output of the season (44 pts).
 
DEFENSIVE
Grace Foster, Lubbock Christian, F, Sr., Criminal Justice, Childress, Texas
Senior forward Grace Foster anchored the defense in No. 7 Lubbock Christian's dominant 71-43 victory over St. Mary's with a game-high three blocks, pacing an LCU squad that out-blocked the LSC's top shot-blocking team, 7-1. Foster pulled down nine rebounds, helping the Lady Chaps to a decisive plus-10 rebound margin against the Rattlers and her defensive play disrupted StMU's shooting to a season-low 26.8 percent from the field.
