UAFS is the only league team without a loss, opening the season last weekend with a four-game road sweep against Oklahoma Christian. West Texas A&M is at 7-1 after opening the year with a sweep of Texas A&M International and taking 3 of 4 against Texas A&M-Kingsville last weekend. Defending national champion Angelo State and UT Permian Basin are at 6-2.

Defending national champion Angelo State was also the top pick in the
LSC preseason poll. ASU junior outfielder Jacob Guerrero and senior right-hander Braxton Pearson were named
LSC Preseason Player and Pitcher of the Year, respectively.
