This week has Lone Star Conference teams starting the last month of the 2023-24 women's basketball season and the final four weekends of regular-season play. The battle for spots and seeding in the March 8-10 LSC Tournament heats up with intra-division games on the February 8 and 10 schedule.
Texas Woman's pushed its win streak to 10 games and moved atop the overall Lone Star Conference standings (12-1) with a pair of road wins to open February. The Pioneers are tied with UT Tyler in the East Division standings (8-1) and both teams host St. Edward's and St. Mary's over the Feb. 8/10 weekend. Texas A&M International and Texas A&M-Kingsville, third and fourth in the East Division listing, host St. Edward's and St. Mary's.
Lubbock Christian remains unbeaten in West Division play (8-0) but will be challenged this weekend with road games against the two teams chasing them in the West standings. The Lady Chaps are at third-place Angelo State on Thursday and second-place UT Permian Basin on Saturday. LSC travel partner West Texas A&M, fourth in the West Division, takes aim at UTPB Thursday and a chance to stop the Falcons' seven game win streak, currently the second-longest in the LSC.
