Lone Star Conference softball enters the postseason conference tournament positioning phase with two weeks of league play remaining. West Texas A&M, UT Tyler, Angelo State, St. Mary's and Oklahoma Christian list one through five in the standings heading into the April 15 week.
Three LSC teams continue to hold spots in the NFCA Top 25 Coaches Poll (April 9) with West Texas A&M a unanimous pick at No. 1 for a second consecutive week. UT Tyler held at No. 6 for a third straight week while Angelo State is No. 21 for a second week. The next NFCA Coaches Poll releases Tuesday (April 16).
The 2024 LSC Softball Championship Tournament is scheduled May 1-2-3 and will be hosted by the No. 1 seeded team. The winner of the tournament earns the conference's automatic qualifier spot in the Division II Softball Championship.

Mikenzey Patterson, Eastern New Mexico, OF, Sr., Biology, Roswell, N.M. (RHS)
Eastern New Mexico outfielder Mikenzey Patterson was effective from the leadoff spot over the week, hitting .428, scoring five runs over four games, and extending her hitting streak. The senior opened with a single in the series closing game at Texas Woman's (April 8), then came back to play a key role in the Greyhounds' 2-1 series win over Oklahoma Christian. Patterson went 5-for-10 with a triple to extend her hit streak to 12 games. She added an RBI and scored three runs as ENMU claimed its first-ever series win against the Eagles.

Amelia Hatthorn, Angelo State, P, Jr., Health Science Professions, Danbury, Texas (D HS)
Junior Amelia Hatthorn picked up a win and save over four appearances as Angelo State posted series wins against Texas A&M International and Lubbock Christian. Hatthorn tossed three innings in the TAMIU series, including combining for a shutout in the 8-0 series clinching win. Against LCU, Hatthorn picked up a save and a win as ASU posted its first series win in Lubbock since LCU joined the LSC. The junior recorded the final two outs in the Rambelles' 9-7 win and threw six innings in the 7-4 victory in the series finale.
