The conference is compiled of 11 men’s teams and 12 women’s squads. Angelo State, Cameron, DBU, Eastern New Mexico, Lubbock Christian, Oklahoma Christian, St. Edward’s, Texas A&M-Kingsville, UT Tyler, West Texas A&M and Western New Mexico have men’s and women’s teams. The 2024 LSC Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held May 9-11 at 1st Community Credit Union Field at LeGrand Stadium in San Angelo, Texas hosted by Angelo State. West Texas A&M has swept the men’s and women’s conference titles the last three years.
The NCAA Division II Championships are set for May 23-25 at Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kan.

MEN’S TRACK
William Amponsah, West Texas A&M, Jr., Sports and Exercise Science, Agona Swedru, Central, Ghana (Swedru School of Business)
Amponsah won gold in the 5,000 meter race with a program-record 14 minutes flat at the Buffalo Invitational in Canyon, Texas. The West Texas A&M junior was nearly two minutes faster than the runner-up. Amponsah, who wins the LSC’s top weekly track award for the second straight week, ranks No. 6 in the event in all of NCAA Division II.
MEN’S FIELD
Manuel Cuesta, West Texas A&M, Fr., General Studies, Medellin, Colombia (I.R Republica de Honduras)
Cuesta took silver in the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 50’2” (15.29m) at the Buffalo Invitational in Canyon, Texas. The West Texas A&M freshman needed only three tries to record the NCAA Division II provisional mark, which is No. 6 in the country.
WOMEN’S TRACK
West Texas A&M 4x100 Meter Relay Team: Joy Udo-Gabriel, Deborah Acheampong, Amari Weatherford and DeOndra Green
West Texas A&M’s 4x100 meter relay team of Joy Udo-Gabriel, Deborah Acheampong, Amari Weatherford and DeOndra Green took first place with the the fastest time in all of NCAA Division II this season at the Buffalo Invitational in Canyo, Texas. The athletes posted a 44.60, which ranked third in program history. Green is a junior, while Udo-Gabriel, Acheampong and Weatheford are all freshmen.
WOMEN’S FIELD
Miriam Zanovello, West Texas A&M, Gr., Chemistry, Chivasso, Italy (Uceo Scientifico Isaac Newton)
Zanovello won gold in the triple jump at the Buffalo Invitation in Canyon, Texas with a 40’11” (12.47m). The West Texas A&M graduate student’s NCAA Division II provisional mark is the sixth best in the country this season. Zanovello, who takes the conference’s top weekly field award for the second time this season, bettered her season best mark by .20m.
