Western Oregon runs past Sul Ross State, 39-17, to open conference play: Western Oregon rushed for 264 yards and four touchdowns to open conference play with a 39-17 road win over Sul Ross State on Saturday at Jackson Field. WOU scored 29 unanswered points to take a 32-3 lead late in the third quarter. Six Wolves rushed for at least 22 yards and Andrew Simpson and Tyler Copeland had interceptions. Complete Release

 
Texas A&M-Kingsville shuts down UT Permian Basin’s comeback bid to win first conference game, 20-14: Texas A&M-Kingsville staved off a comeback attempt from UT Permian Basin and took down the reigning LSC champions, 20-14, Saturday at Astound Broadband Stadium. Khalen Leonard’s fourth-quarter interception on third down and seven from the TAMUK seven yard line sealed the win. The TAMUK defense allowed just 46 rushing yards, while Roger Hagan ran for over 100 yards for the second straight week. Complete Release

 
Midwestern State opens conference play with 36-15 over Eastern New Mexico: Midwestern State persevered through multiple lightning delays at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium and won its conference opener over Eastern New Mexico, 36-15. MSU’s Joseph Carlson was 5-for-5 on field goal attempts and set a school record for most made field goals in a game. MSU’s Ryan Melton returned an interception 59 yards for a touchdown midway through the third quarter and Devin Cross gained a career-high 154 yards on 21 carries. Complete Release

 
No. 14 Central Washington rolls to 45-3 win over West Texas A&M: Central Washington won its first game in LSC play with a 45-3 victory at West Texas A&M late Saturday night after a severe storm delay. CWU’s Tyler Flanagan ran for 104 yards and three touchdowns – two in the first quarter – on 21 carries and Tanner Volk had a 76-yard interception return for a touchdown. Angelo State blanks Western New Mexico, 21-0, to stay unbeaten in conference play: Angelo State put together a complete performance on Saturday, defeating Western New Mexico 21-0 on the road at Ben Altamirano Field.
