Western Oregon tops West Texas A&M 24-16 to stay unbeaten in LSC play: Kainoa Jones hit Damon Hickok in stride for a 63-yard touchdown pass to start the fourth quarter to give Western Oregon the cushion it needed to beat West Texas A&M 24-16 on Saturday at at McArthur Field. WOU is now 2-0 in LSC play. WOU’s Dominique Loggins ran for 99 yards and a score, while Malcolm Liufau had 10 tackles – 3.5 tackles for loss – three quarterback hurries and a sack. UT Permian Basin bounces back with win at Midwestern State, 27-3: Just one week after suffering its first conference loss in two seasons, UT Permian Basin got back into the win column with a 27-3 road win at Midwestern State on Saturday night at Memorial Stadium. UTPB finished with points in all four quarters and outgained MSU in total yardage, 441-252. UTPB’s Dylan Graham completed 23 of 45 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns and Kory Harris rushed for 147 yards on 22 carries. Complete Release

 
Texas A&M-Kingsville scores eight touchdowns to cruise by Sul Ross State, 56-21: Texas A&M-Kingsville was firing on all cylinders against Sul Ross State in a 56-21 victory on Saturday at Javelina Stadium. Scoring the most points since 2022, the Javelinas had six different players score a touchdown en route to their third straight victory. TAMUK quarterback Teague Dedtal was 17 of 25 passing for 230 yards and four TDs – two to Isaiah Smalls – without an interception. No. 13 Central Washington shuts out Mustangs in home opener, 36-0: No. 13-ranked Central Washington continued its roll, shutting out the Western New Mexico Mustangs 36-0 in front of a packed season-opening crowd at Steve Hertling Field at Tomlinson Stadium. CWU scored in every quarter, led by quarterback Kennedy McGill’s two touchdown passes and one rushing score.
