Score Updates on LSC Scoreboard

Lone Star Conference women's basketball teams resume their division schedules Thursday and Saturday (Jan. 30, Feb. 1) -- the back half of the season's home-and-home division set.

East Division teams posted a combined 9-7 record vs. the West Division in cross-divisional games the past week. Texas A&M International, Midwestern State, UT Tyler, Texas Woman's, Lubbock Christian were each 2-0 against their cross-division opponents.

After January 25 games, three teams remain tied in first place in the overall league standings: TWU, UTT and LCU – with Angelo State at No. 4 and UT Permian Basin jumping two spots into fifth place. Seeding for the eight-team LSC Tournament is based on overall standings (22 games). The East and West Division winners automatically qualify for the LSC Tournament but are not guaranteed a top two seed.

Three LSC team or individual game-bests for the 2024-25 season were set during games last weekend. UT Tyler forward Ella Bradley tallied a conference high 11 assists in the Patriots' win over Eastern New Mexico (Jan. 23) while ASU center Keniah Williams tied the LSC game-best with five blocked shots in a winning effort at St. Edward's (Jan. 25). Lubbock Christian players were on point from three-point field goal range, completing as LSC game high 18-of-32 three-pointers (.563) in its win vs. Cameron (Jan. 25).

A pair of 30 point-plus scoring performances highlighted LSC offensive efforts last week. St. Edward's guard JP Perkins scored 31 points to lead the Hilltoppers to a 78-59 win over UTPB (Jan. 23) while Oklahoma Christian freshman guard Ciara Harris totaled 30 points in a narrow 69-66 loss to Midwestern State (Jan. 25). ... Ashley Ingram recorded a triple-double against West Texas A&M with 11 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists.

LSC in the Polls . . .

LSC teams used open November and December dates to take on South Central Region rivals from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) in games that will ultimately figure into the Division II postseason regional rankings and tournament berths. In the 43 inter-region games, the LSC posted a 30-13 (.698) record with four teams unbeaten in games against their RMAC opponents: LCU (4-0), UT Tyler (3-0), Texas Woman's (3-0) and Eastern New Mexico (3-0).
