Central Washington's McGill leads 2025 Football All-Academic Team

 
Central Washington University's Kennedy McGill was named the 2025 Lone Star Conference Football Academic Player of the Year and leads the 11-member All-Academic Team announced by league officials on Thursday (Nov. 20).
 
A quarterback for LSC champion Central Washington, McGill is a sports management major carrying a 3.95 grade-point average. He is a two-time LSC All-Academic Team selection (2024, '25). On the field, McGill has completed 98 of 185 passes for 1,379 yards and posts a conference-best 981 yards on 143 rushing attempts. McGill leads the LSC with 17 touchdowns and 102 points scored. He was the LSC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 1.
 
McGill is joined on the LSC Football All-Academic Team by Hunter Wallis, Angelo State; Brent McCalla, Central Washington; Dylan Quartieri, Eastern New Mexico; Noah Bustard, Midwestern State; Evian Thompson, Sul Ross State; Jeremiah Conaway and Jack Turner, Texas A&M-Kingsville; Trevin Edwards and Jamel Acosta-Lewis, West Texas A&M; and Kyle Babcock, Western Oregon.
 
The All-Academic Team, selected by vote of the LSC sports information directors, recognizes student-athlete accomplishments in the classroom and on the football field. To be eligible for the All-Academic Team ballot, individuals must maintain a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and have reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
 
As the Football Academic Player of the Year, McGill is a candidate for the 2025-26 LSC Fred Jacoby Academic Athlete of the Year award which is announced in June.
