Watch LSC Women’s Basketball live on FloCollege
The 2025-26 Lone Star Conference women’s basketball season is officially underway as two of the 17 teams have played.
No. 13 Lubbock Christian and West Texas A&M played in the D2CCA Tip-Off Classic in St. Joseph, Mo. LCU had a 2-0 showing, while WT went 1-1 with its only loss coming from the No. 1 team in the country. LCU’s Meg Meekins was named the event’s Most Valuable Player. Her teammate Kennedy Chappell and WT’s Kyla Kane were voted to the All-Tournament Team.

No. 3 Texas Woman’s is the favorite to win the LSC title this season, according the
preseason poll. Kane was voted
preseason player of the year.
The LSC women’s basketball tournament will feature the top eight teams and is set for March 6-8 at
Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas. Tickets will go on sale in February.
Due to being NCAA Division II provisional members, new league member UT Dallas and Sul Ross State are not eligible for the LSC tournament but are able to win the LSC regular season title and postseason awards.

Lubbock Christian junior guard Kennedy Chappell averaged 17 points, 6.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds to help lead the No. 13-ranked Lady Chaps to a 2-0 start to the season at the D2CCA Tip-Off Classic in St. Joseph, Mo. Chappell shot 52 percent from the field in the wins over Adams State and Missouri Western. Against Adams State, Chappell had 11 points in the second half to help erase a 13-point deficit. She had career-highs of 21 points and seven assists in an 82-75 game against Missouri Western. Over the two games, she added two steals and a block.
DEFENSIVE
Taylor Haggan, West Texas A&M, C, Jr., International Business, Parker ,Texas
West Texas A&M junior center Taylor Haggan pulled down nine defensive rebounds as the Lady Buffs opened the season at the D2CCA Tip-Off Classic in St. Joseph, Mo. Haggan averaged 10 points and eight rebounds per game with two steals against No. 1 Grand Valley State and Northwest Missouri State. In the 67-51 win over Northwest Missouri State, Haggan had a double double of 10 points and 12 boards with no turnovers. It was her 13th career double double. She shot 57.1 percent from the field.
