As spring weather ramps up, Lone Star Conference West and East divisional doubleheader play begins this weekend (March 13-16).
 
The first full March weekend saw the East Division teams post a 21-11 record vs. West Division teams. Cameron, Oklahoma Christian and UT Tyler were each 4-0 vs. their West Division opponents. West Division duo West Texas A&M (4-0) and Angelo State (3-1) posted winning marks in their games vs. the East Division. ... For the 2025 season to date, the East carries a 75-53 record against the West. ... West Texas A&M and UT Tyler open the week leading the LSC overall standings with 14-2 records.
 
The LSC holds four spots in the NFCA Top 25 Coaches Poll with UT Tyler remaining in the No. 1 position in the March 11 poll. West Texas A&M jumped from No. 5 to No. 3 while Angelo State held at No. 4 and Oklahoma Christian gained one spot to No. 18 from the March 4 to March 11 rankings.

The winners of the LSC East and West Divisions earn an automatic berth in the eight-team LSC Softball Tournament. Seeding is determined by the conference record vs. all teams. The single-elimination league tournament is set for May 1-3 and will be hosted by the No. 1 seeded team. The 2025 LSC schedule is an LSC East-West Division format of doubleheader dates. Each team has a home/away set vs. each team within its division and a twin bill against each team in the opposite division for a 44-game LSC schedule.
 
LSC teams carry a combined 34-13 record against the RMAC/South Central Region opponents and an overall 50-18 against out-of-region Division II opponents.

HITTER
Tatiana Trotter, Angelo State, CF, Jr., Intelligence & Analysis, Lubbock, Texas
Angelo State center fielder Tatiana Trotter hit .615 for the week, with five of her eight hits going for extra bases and recording nine RBI in a pair of doubleheaders against St. Mary's and St. Edward's. The junior opened the weekend with a triple against St. Mary's before going 2-for-3 with a grand slam in the Rambelles' 13-4 run-rule win. In her first game against St. Edward's, Trotter went 3-for-4 from the plate, hitting a pair of two-run home runs and doubling in the 16-7 win before closing her weekend going 2-for-3 with two walks and a pair of runs in the 4-3, extra-inning win vs. SEU.
 
PITCHER
Miranda Guillen, Eastern New Mexico, RHP, Fr., Physical Education, El Paso, Texas
Miranda Guillen had a career performance during a 6-0 complete game shutout in Eastern New Mexico's game one win at Texas Woman's. The right-hander posted a career-best 13 strikeouts, allowing just three base runners on a single, walk, and hit by pitch, and retiring the final 11 batters in a row with at least two strikeouts in five of the seven innings. It was Guillen's second shutout of the season and fifth complete game. In 8.1 innings of weekend work against UT Tyler and TWU, Guillen held opposing hitters to a .077 batting average.
 
FRESHMAN
Kendall Ward, Lubbock Christian, P, Fr., Undeclared, Round Rock, Texas
Kendall Ward delivered a strong week in relief for Lubbock Christian, securing two crucial saves and moving into a tie for the LSC lead in saves. Ward was instrumental in a combined shutout against St. Edward’s, closing out the 1-0 victory using 16 pitches to retire all three batters faced in the seventh inning in preserving the shutout. At St. Mary’s, Ward entered in the sixth and pitched two innings to lock down a 3-2 victory allowing one run on three hits with a strikeout for her third save of the year. Across two appearances, Ward pitched 3.0 innings, surrendering only one run while issuing no walks.
