LSC Outdoor Track and Field Release - Week 2

Lone Star Conference athletes have recorded 83 NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks (47 men and 36 women).

Angelo State’s Oleg Ananev (5.60m in pole vault) and West Texas A&M’s Joseph Oreva (7.86m in long jump) own top marks in all of NCAA Division II on the men’s side, while Lubbock Christian’s Anna Salisbury (53.03 in 400-meters) and WT’s Eliette Chaput (10:14.50 in 3000 Steeplechase) have best marks in the country on the women’s side.

The conference is compiled of 11 men’s teams and 12 women’s squads. Angelo State, Cameron, DBU, Eastern New Mexico, Lubbock Christian, Oklahoma Christian, St. Edward’s, Texas A&M-Kingsville, UT Tyler, West Texas A&M and Western New Mexico have men’s and women’s teams. The 2025 LSC Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held May 1-3 at Al Whitehead Field at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium in Portales, N.M. hosted by Eastern New Mexico. West Texas A&M has swept the men’s and women’s conference titles the last four years.

The NCAA Division II Championships are set for May 22-24 at CSU Pueblo Thunderbowl in Pueblo, Colo.

(March 27-29 Meets)

MEN’S TRACK
Isaac Botsio, West Texas A&M, Jr., Sports and Exercise Science, Takoradi, Ghana
West Texas A&M junior Isaac Botsio posted the second fastest 100-meter time in all of NCAA Division II with a 10.16 at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas. Botsio finished third overall in the event with a 10.28 He also was part of the 4x100 meter relay team that registered a 40.09 – fourth best in the country.
 
MEN’S FIELD
Luke Holcombe, West Texas A&M, Sr., Sports and Exercise Science, Floydada, Texas
West Texas A&M senior Luke Holcombe won the shot put and discus at the Greyhound Open in Portales, N.M. In the shot put, Holcombe threw 17.10, which was good for the the 13th best mark in all of NCAA Division II. He recorded a 46.88m in the discus. Holcombe was also runner-up in the hammer throw (49.50m).
 
WOMEN’S TRACK
Anna Salisbury, Lubbock Christian, Sr., Psychology/Family Studies, Leander, Texas
Lubbock Christian senior Anna Salisbury posted two NCAA Division II provisional marks, broke two school records and now has the top 400-meter time in the country after her showing at the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas. Salisbury had a school-record 53.03 in the 400 to top several Division I opponents. Her other school record and provisional mark was in the 4x400 meter relay, where the Lady Chaps finished as runner-up with a 3:42.24 that ranks sixth in the nation. Salisbury was also part of the 4x100 team that posted a 46.68.
 
WOMEN’S FIELD
Kennedy Ulmer, Eastern New Mexico, Jr., Biology, Rio Rancho, N.M.
Eastern New Mexico junior Kennedy Ulmer posted two NCAA Division II provisional marks and set a school record in the discus at the Greyhound Open in Portales, N.M. She threw a 160-5 (48.91m) in the discus, which ranks third in the nation, and threw a 141-6 (43.12m) in the javelin, which ranks 21st in the country. She finished as runner-up in both events, behind only a Division I competitor. Ulmer also recorded a 146-3 (44.58m) in the hammer.
