It is the final week of the Lone Star Conference 2025 softball season with teams vying for a berth and seeding in the eight-team LSC Softball Tournament. … The week begins on Tuesday as Texas Woman’s travels to UT Tyler to complete their East Division home-and-home weather-delayed doubleheader from April 6. … Final weekend doubleheaders are scheduled Friday and Sunday at Angelo State, Lubbock Christian, St. Edward’s, St. Mary’s, Sul Ross State, UT Permian Basin. TWU and UT Tyler.
 
The eight-team bracket for the LSC Softball Tournament will be released after the conclusion of regular season games. Qualification and seeding are determined by the overall conference record vs. all teams over the 44-game league schedule. The May 1-2-3 tournament will be hosted by the No. 1 seeded team. … West Texas A&M (38-2 LSC) sits in the top spot of the overall LSC standings followed by UT Tyler (34-4 LSC), Angelo State (32-8 LSC) and Oklahoma Christian (28-12 LSC) in second, third and fourth place, respectively.
 
A sweep of Sul Ross State on April 18 earned West Texas A&M (24-0 West) the LSC West Division title. The Lady Buffs take their undefeated division record and 28-game season win streak to West challengers LCU and ASU. … UT Tyler leads the East Division (20-2 East) with six division games left. Chasing the Patriots is second-place Oklahoma Christian (18-6) with the division leaders at UTT for a Friday doubleheader. Cameron and St. Edward’s are tied at third in the East standings with 12-12 records.
 
Seven teams played to 4-0 records in their April 16 and 18 doubleheaders: ASU, Cameron, LCU, Midwestern State, OC, UTT and WT. Texas A&M-Kingsville split two sets (2-2).
 
LSC in the Polls . . .
West Texas A&M held at No. 1 in the NFCA Coaches Poll for a second week as UT Tyler slips to No. 4, Angelo State stays at No.7 and Oklahoma Christian drops to No. 20 in the April 15 ranking.  …  The LSC has ruled the NFCA poll in 2025, with a conference team ranked No. 1 in 10- of the 11 polls to date. UT Tyler listed in the top spot from the preseason through week 7 and after a one-week lapse, WT has claimed No. 1 for weeks 9 and 10.  
LSC in the South Central Region . . .
The first Division II softball regional rankings were released April 16 and included seven LSC teams under national tournament consideration. Both April 23 and 30 region rankings will be numeric listings. ... LSC teams carry a combined 34-13 record against RMAC/South Central Region opponents and an overall 56-20 against out-of-region Division II opponents (through April 20).

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK Games April 14-20
 
HITTER
Kendra Levesque, Lubbock Christian, 1B, Sr., Teaching, Albuquerque, N.M.
Kendra Levesque put together a dominant offensive performance, going 13-for-15 (.867) with four home runs, 10 RBI, and an .895 on-base percentage across four road victories for Lubbock Christian. The senior first baseman was a perfect 7-for-7 with three home runs and five RBI during the doubleheader sweep at Western New Mexico, including two home runs, a double, and three RBI in game two. Levesque posted a four-hit performance with a home run and four RBI in the series opener at Eastern New Mexico. Levesque carries an on-base streak to 17 straight plate appearances and has recorded hits in 10 consecutive official at-bats.
 
PITCHER
Jill Dickson, Oklahoma Christian, RHP, Jr., Marketing & Management, Edmond, Okla.
Junior Jill Dickson earned three wins in Oklahoma Christian’s 4-0 weekend sweeps of St. Mary’s and St. Edward’s. After posting a 5-3 complete-game victory in game one against StMU, Dickson entered game two with OC trailing in the top of the seventh. After giving up a hit to the first batter faced, Dickson retired the next six Rattlers in order as OC claimed the 10-9 extra-inning victory. The right-hander tallied her second complete-game victory and third win of the week with a 4-2 win against St. Edward's. Dickson collected 12 strikeouts over 15.2 innings posting a 2.30 ERA and allowing a pair of doubles.
 
FRESHMAN
Bri Waters, Angelo State, 1B, Fr., Exercise Science, Salado, Texas
Over her three game appearances, first baseman Bri Waters hit .800 and slugged 2.000, to help Angelo State to a 4-0 road weekend. After a pinch hitting in game two at Eastern New Mexico, Waters came off the bench in game one at Western New Mexico to power a three-run home run in the 11-3 win. She started the second game of the WNMU doubleheader, going 3-for-3 with a solo home run, 2 RBI, and a walk drawn.
