Softball awards announced by LSC

 
West Texas A&M pitcher/utility player Emilee Boyer claimed Lone Star Conference Softball Player of the Year honors to highlight the 2025 softball awards, it was announced Wednesday by LSC officials at the tournament reception.
 
A junior from Harrisburg, S.D., Boyer was also named the LSC Pitcher of the Year. She opens postseason carrying a .476 batting average over 54 games and totals 32 extra base hits, including 20 home runs. In the circle, Boyer is 24-3 with a 1.98 ERA and a conference-best 209 strikeouts over her 155.2 innings. Boyer was also named to the LSC All-Conference First Team.
 
Texas A&M-Kingsville's Arianna Alaniz was voted LSC Freshman of the Year. A pitcher, Alaniz made 21 starts and worked 152.0 innings, totaling 200 strikeouts and a 12-12 record with two saves. Alaniz was selected All-Conference Second Team and led the 10-player LSC All-Freshman Team.
 
The LSC Newcomer of the Year award was presented to UT Tyler right fielder Ka'lyn Watson. The senior posted a .458 batting average with 65 hits and 45 RBI for the overall season.
 
West Texas A&M's coach Michael Mook was named LSC Coach of the Year after leading the Lady Buffs to the conference season co-championship and the West Division title, while putting together a 28-game winning streak and listing at No. 1 ranking in the NFCA Coaches Poll for four weeks.
 
The softball all-conference awards are determined by vote of the league's head coaches, who select a 25-player first team with 16 recognized by position and nine at-large selections, followed by 15 players on the second and third teams.
