LSC Outdoor Track and Field Championships Central
The 2025 Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships are set for May 1-3 (Thursday-Saturday) at Al Whitehead Field at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium in Portales, N.M. hosted by Eastern New Mexico.

Earlier this season, WT senior William Amponsah
set the all-time NCAA Division II 10,000-meter outdoor record with a 27:47.93 at Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. He broke the mark of 27:48.06 set by Chico State’s Scott Bauhs in 2008.
In addition to Amponsah, WT’s Joseph Oreva (7.86m in long jump) and Romet Vahter (7,592 in decathlon), Angelo State’s Solomon Odonkor (10.08m in 100-meter) and Oleg Ananev (5.60m in pole vault) own top Division II marks on the men’s side.

The NCAA Division II Championships will be held May 22-24 at CSU Pueblo Thunderbowl in Pueblo, Colo.
The LSC is compiled of 11 men’s teams and 12 women’s squads. Angelo State, Cameron, DBU, Eastern New Mexico, Lubbock Christian, Oklahoma Christian, St. Edward’s, Texas A&M-Kingsville, UT Tyler, WT and Western New Mexico have men’s and women’s teams. Midwestern State has only a women’s team.

MEN’S TRACK
Jhonatan Rodriguez-Osorno, Texas A&M-Kingsville, So., Business, Cali, Columbia
Texas A&M-Kingsville sophomore Jhonatan Rodriguez-Osorno posted a personal-best 1:49.46 to win the 800-meters at the Texas Invitational in Austin, Texas. Rodriguez-Osorno’s time was also a NCAA Division II provisional time and ranked 19th in the entire country.
MEN’S FIELD
David Guzman, Texas A&M-Kingsville, So., Business Administration, Queretaro, Mexico
Texas A&M-Kingsville sophomore David Guzman posted NCAA Division II throws in both the shot put and discus at the Texas Invitational in Austin, Texas. Guzman capped off the event by throwing a 59-5.5 (18.12m) in the shot put to rank third in the entire country. He opened with a 181-1 (55.20m) in the discus, which was good for 12th in the nation. He finished in third place in the discus – behind only Division I opponents.
WOMEN’S TRACK
Cynai Christopher, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Sr., Kinesiology, Missouri City, Texas
Texas A&M-Kingsville senior Cynai Christopher recorded NCAA Division II times in the 400-meters and 300-meters, and was part of the 4x400-meter relay team that did the same at the Texas Invitational in Autin, Texas. Christopher ran a 54.13 in the 400, which ranked 18th in the nation. She posted a 24.11 in the 200. Her 4x400 squad recorded a 3:42.61 – ranking 22nd in the country – to finish in third place behind only Division I teams.
WOMEN’S FIELD
Kennedy Ulmer, Eastern New Mexico, Jr., Biology, Rio Rancho, N.M.
Eastern New Mexico junior Kennedy Ulmer won three gold medals at the SPC Texan in Levelland, Texas. Ulmer had a 143’9” (43.81m) in the javelin, 144’1” (43.93m) in the discus and 140’9” (42.91m) in the hammer throw. Her NCAA Division II provisional throw in the javelin ranks 26th in the nation.
