The final three weeks of the Lone Star Conference season are crunch time as teams set sights on earning one the eight spots in the conference tournament field. Rain and snow played havoc with the April 4-6 schedule leaving travel partner doubleheaders to carry over to Monday and Tuesday (April 7-8) and move one doubleheader to the last regular schedule week. A full doubleheader slate awaits all 16 teams on Friday and Sunday (April 11, 13).

After April 6 games, West Texas A&M (30-2 LSC) leads the LSC overall standings. UT Tyler (25-3 LSC), Angelo State (24-8) and Oklahoma Christian (20-10) follow at second, third and fourth, respectively.

West Division leader WT carries a perfect mark in division play (16-0 West) with ASU second (11-5 West). In the East, UT Tyler (11-1 East), idled by rain-soaked field conditions over the weekend, retained its division lead ahead of Oklahoma Christian in second (10-4 East).

West Texas A&M swept its two doubleheaders vs. travel partner Midwestern State while Eastern New Mexico took a pair of games at Western New Mexico and Oklahoma Christian went 2-0 at Cameron. The ENMU-WNMU series concludes Monday and OC-CU finishes Tuesday. … Angelo State, St. Edward’s and Texas A&M International all posted 3-1 records for travel partner weekend. ASU won against Lubbock Christian, SEU claimed the “Saints Series” vs. St. Mary’s, and TAMIU upended Texas A&M-Kingsville. … Sul Ross State and UT Permian Basin split their partner doubleheaders as each won twice on their home field. … Texas Woman’s and UT Tyler were both idled by weather.

LSC in the Polls . . .
The LSC holds four spots in the NFCA Top 25 Coaches Poll in the latest ranking (April 1). West Texas A&M moved up to No. 2 while UT Tyler, who held the top spot for seven weeks, fell to No.3. Angelo State is at No. 7 while Oklahoma Christian gained one place to No. 19.
The initial Division II softball regional rankings will be released alphabetically on April 16, followed by numerical ranking on April 23 and 30. ... LSC teams carry a combined 34-13 record against RMAC/South Central Region opponents and an overall 56-20 against out-of-region Division II opponents (through March 31).

The winners of the LSC East and West Divisions will earn an automatic berth in the eight-team LSC Softball Tournament. Seeding is determined by the conference record vs. all teams. The single-elimination league tournament is set for May 1-3 and hosted by the No. 1 seeded team. The 2025 LSC schedule is an LSC East-West Division format of doubleheader dates. Each team has a home/away set vs. each team within its division and a twin bill against each team in the opposite division for a 44-game LSC schedule.
