Lone Star Conference athletes have recorded 95 NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks (53 men and 42 women).
Angelo State’s Oleg Ananev (5.60m in pole vault) and Mark Burdin (7,338 points in decathlon), and West Texas A&M’s Joseph Oreva (7.86m in long jump) own top marks in all of NCAA Division II on the men’s side, while Lubbock Christian’s Anna Salisbury (53.03 in 400-meters) and WT’s Eliette Chaput (10:14.50 in 3000 Steeplechase) have best marks in the country on the women’s side.

The conference is compiled of 11 men’s teams and 12 women’s squads. Angelo State, Cameron, DBU, Eastern New Mexico, Lubbock Christian, Oklahoma Christian, St. Edward’s, Texas A&M-Kingsville, UT Tyler, West Texas A&M and Western New Mexico have men’s and women’s teams. The 2025 LSC Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held May 1-3 at Al Whitehead Field at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium in Portales, N.M. hosted by Eastern New Mexico. West Texas A&M has swept the men’s and women’s conference titles the last four years.
The NCAA Division II Championships are set for May 22-24 at CSU Pueblo Thunderbowl in Pueblo, Colo.

MEN’S TRACK
Aziz Mohammed, West Texas A&M, Jr., Sports and Exercise Science, Dunkwa-on-offin, Central, Ghana
West Texas A&M junior Aziz Mohammed posted a 3:44.82 in the 1,500 meters to finish as runner-up at the Masked Rider Open in Lubbock, Texas. Mohammed’s NCAA Division II provisional time – the only athlete in the LSC to secure one in the 1500m – ranks sixth in the entire country. It is also the eighth fastest time in program history.
MEN’S FIELD
Mark Burdin, Angelo State, So., Business Management, Kazan, Russia
Angelo State sophomore Mark Burdin won gold in the decathlon at the David Noble Relays in San Angelo, Texas. Burdin’s total of 7,338 is tops in all of NCAA Division II this season. He finished first overall in seven of the events.
WOMEN’S TRACK
Ellie Frye, DBU, Jr., Marketing, Bushland, Texas
DBU junior Ellie Frye posted a 2.08.36 in the 800-meter at the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. Frye was runner-up in her section, which included eight NCAA Division I competitors. Her time is an NCAA Division II provisional result and ranks 12th in the nation.
WOMEN’S FIELD
Federica Dozio, Angelo State, Fr., Engineering, Beverate, Italy
Angelo State freshman Federica Dozio won the javelin at the David Noble Relays n San Angelo, Texas. Dozio threw a 164-2 (50.3m), which is also a NCAA Division II provisional mark and ranks third in the country.
