After two weeks of Lone Star Conference men’s soccer play, four teams remain without a loss: St. Edward’s (2-0-2), No. 17 St. Mary’s (1-0-2), Texas A&M International (2-0-2) and UT Tyler (2-0-1).
 
On the young season, TAMIU’s offense leads in scoring average (3.25 goals per match), while StMU’s defense leads in opponents average (0.33 goals per match).
 
Conference matches begin Oct. 1.
 
MSU is the favorite to win the LSC title this season, according the preseason poll. SEU’s Arthur Souza and StMU teammates Luke Mulkey and Johnny Thurbin were voted preseason players of the year.
 
The LSC men's soccer tournament will be comprised of the top six teams and is scheduled for Nov. 8 (quarterfinals), Nov. 12 (semifinals) and Nov. 15 (final). The quarterfinals will be held on campus of the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds; the semifinals are hosted by the No. 1 and No. 2 seed; and title match will be hosted by the highest remaining seed.

LONE STAR CONFERENCE MEN’S SOCCER PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

OFFENSIVE
Filip Adamski, St. Edward’s, MF, Fr., Poland
St. Edward’s freshman midfielder Filip Adamski scored three goals over an unbeaten week against No. 9 Fort Lewis College and MSU Denver. Adamski had a brace in a 3-3 match against FLC, scoring the first (45:51) and last (86:42) goal. He also struck first against MSU Denver, scoring in just over one minute of action. Adamski leads the LSC with four goals on the season.
 
DEFENSIVE
Callum Thompson, UT Dallas, D, Fr., Business Administration, Maumelle, Ark.
UT Dallas freshman defender Callum Thompson fueled a pair of road shutouts and scored both game-winning goals in the process against West Texas A&M and Lubbock Christian. Thompson and company allowed just four shots on goal over the Comets’ first two wins of the season. He found the back of the net in the 18th minute on a floating header off a free kick in a 1-0 win over WT. He scored in the 14th minute of a 2-0 match with LCU.
 
GOALKEEPER
Isaac Poole, Sul Ross State, GK, Gr., General Studies, Boise, Idaho
Sul Ross State graduate student Isaac Poole became the first goalkeeper in program history to record back-to-back shutouts as the Lobos went 2-0 – their first wins of the season – against Adams State and Jamestown. It was the second consecutive year Pool shut out Adams State. He then stopped two shots in a 3-0 match with Jamestown. It was the first time the Jimmies have been held off the scoreboard this season.
