The 2026 Lone Star Conference Tennis Players to Watch list was announced on Wednesday (Jan. 28), with two representatives from each of the conference’s nine men’s and 11 women’s teams.
The 40 student-athletes were nominated by their member institution.
Cameron, Lubbock Christian, Midwestern State, St. Mary’s, Sul Ross State, new league member UT Dallas, UT Permian Basin, UT Tyler and Western New Mexico all have men’s and women’s teams, while Angelo State and Texas A&M-Kingsville have only a women’s squad.
LSC men’s tennis has been played since 1932 and LSC women’s tennis began in 1983. UT Tyler is the defending champion on the men’s side, while St. Mary’s and Midwestern State shared the 2025 women’s title.

Seven LSC teams appear in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA)
Preseason National Rankings. On the men’s side: No. 5 LCU, No. 7 UTT and No. 18 MSU. For the women: No. 8 MSU, No. 12 StMU, No. 18 UTT and No. 25 LCU.
The Players to Watch list includes 10 nationally ranked players. LCU’s Kelly Giese (4), CU’s Lukas Janousek (5), MSU’s Germano Setti (7), UTT’s Malo Poulesquen (10), LCU’s Pablo Segura (18) and MSU’s Juan David Duque are ranked on the men’s side, while ASU’s Margaux Rene (7), MSU’s Selin Sepken (10), UTT’s Yona Bancarel (26) and LCU’s AnaMaria Zoric (34) are ranked on the women’s side.
Eight players appear in the national doubles rankings. Duque (11), Janousek (12), Setti (16) and CU’s Noe Millard (12) are on ranked men’s teams, while Bancarel (7), Gorzny (7), Rene (22) and ASU’s Sasa Felizova (22) are on ranked women’s squads.
The
LSC Tennis Championships are scheduled for April 30-May 2 at
Arlington Tennis Center in Arlington, Texas.
The NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Championship is set for May 19-24 at Surprise Tennis and Raquet Complex in Surprise, Ariz.
Notes:
- Due to being NCAA Division II provisional members, UTD and SRSU – men and women – are not eligible for the LSC tennis tournament but are able to win the LSC regular season title and postseason awards.
