LSC releases 2026 football conference schedule

The Lone Star Conference has released its 2026 football conference schedule, which features a 10-team, nine-game single round robin format.

The slate has conference games predominantly in Weeks 3-11 (Sept. 19-Nov. 7), with one league contest in Week 2 (Sept. 12). Non-conference games will primarily be played during Week 0 (Aug. 27-29) and Week 1 (Sept. 5), with one tilt scheduled for Week 5 (Oct. 3).

The LSC is comprised of teams from four different states (Texas, New Mexico, Washington and Oregon): Angelo State, Central Washington, Eastern New Mexico, Midwestern State, Sul Ross State, Texas A&M-Kingsville, UT Permian Basin, West Texas A&M, Western New Mexico and Western Oregon.

All teams will have 11 regular season games.

CWU is the defending conference champion for the first time after going 9-0 in league play. The Wildcats (10-2 overall) earned the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Championship and reached the first round. UTPB (11-3, 7-2 LSC) received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II playoffs and advanced to the quarterfinals.

The LSC had three teams reach postseason play as WT (8-4, 7-2 LSC) was selected for the Heritage Bowl Powered by Riot, which it won 28-27 over Arkansas Tech.

LSC Football Media Day is scheduled for Thursday, July 23 at McKinney ISD Stadium in McKinney, Texas.

The LSC and McKinney ISD will serve as co-hosts – for the eighth time since 2018 – of the NCAA Division II championship game, which is scheduled for Dec. 19 at McKinney ISD Stadium.

For the third consecutive season, all LSC football games will be broadcast live on FloCollege. Monthly and yearly subscriptions are available.
