The nine-team field has been announced for the 2026 Lone Star Conference Softball Championship, which is scheduled for Wednesday-Saturday (May 6-9) at Schaeffer Park in Canyon, Texas. Punching its tickets to the single-elimination event are No. 6 West Texas A&M, No. 20 UT Tyler, No. 13 Angelo State, No. 15 Oklahoma Christian, Texas A&M-Kingsville, St. Mary’s, Lubbock Christian, Texas Woman’s and Western New Mexico.
 
WT (46-6 overall) is the host after winning the LSC regular season title with a 36-4 record. The Lady Buffs, who have won three consecutive regular season crowns, enter the postseason on a league-high 12-game winning streak. They lead the LSC in hitting (.396) and have blasted 96 home runs, which is 24 more than anyone else in the league.
 
WT will open on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. CT in the quarterfinals against the winner of Wednesday’s 1 p.m. CT first-round game between No. 8 seed Texas Woman’s (29-25, 23-17 LSC) and No. 9 seed Western New Mexico (25-25, 21-19 LSC).
 
Defending LSC tournament champion UT Tyler (41-11, 33-7 LSC) is the No. 2 seed. The Patriots, who have won the last two NCAA Division II national titles, open Thursday in the quarterfinals at 1:30 p.m. CT against No. 7 seed St. Mary’s (30-21, 22-16 LSC).
 
Angelo State (43-12, 32-8 LSC) is the No. 3 seed and will begin in the quarterfinals Thursday at 11 a.m. CT against No. 6 seed Lubbock Christian (28-22, 22-16 LSC).
 
Oklahoma Christian (39-13, 30-10 LSC) is the No. 4 seed and begins play in the quarterfinals Thursday at 5 p.m. CT against No. 5 seed Texas A&M-Kingsville (32-18, 27-13 LSC).
 
The semifinals are set for Friday. The 2 p.m. CT game will feature the No. 1/8 or 9 winner against the No. 4/5 winner and the 5 p.m. CT game will feature the No. 2/7 winner against the No. 3/6 winners.
 
The title game is scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. CT.
 
The winner of the event will be named the LSC Softball Tournament Champion and earn the league's automatic qualification to the 2026 NCAA Division II Softball Championship.
