Western New Mexico, No. 22 Western Oregon and Midwestern State began their 2026 season 1-0 after Week 0 victories. WNMU and WOU prevailed on the road. No. 7 Central Washington was the only LSC team idle.

Western New Mexico 62, Adams State 45: Western New Mexico secured a 62-45 road victory over Adams State at Rex Field in Alamosa, Colo. The Mustangs dominated on the ground, rushing for 485 yards and scoring seven touchdowns. Devon Nofoa-Masoe ran for 238 yards and two scores, while Joshua Gaines totaled 66 yards and found the end zone four times to lead WNMU. Clayton Zenter had seven tackles and an interception to lead the Mustangs’ defense. WNMU’s Conor Martinez averaged 50.2 yards on five punts. It was a one-score game (52-45) with 5:02 left to play until Jase Ashley ran for a seven-yard score.

New Mexico Highlands 35, Eastern New Mexico 34: Eastern New Mexico came up short against New Mexico Highlands 35-34 at Sanchez Family Stadium in Las Vegas, N.M. After a six-yard touchdown pass from Clifton Cooper to Jose Trevino with 1:34 remaining to play, ENMU opted to go for the win with a fake extra-point attempt but was unsuccessful. Trevino caught two TD passes and three different ENMU rushers found the end zone (Lake Bennett, Emeka Megwa and Trei Kibbles). Matthew Quartieri had seven tackles and Caleb Jefferson had an interception to lead the Greyounds on defense.

(RV) Fort Hays State 35, (RV) Angelo State 14: Angelo State got the first lead but fell 35-14 game to Fort Hays State at LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field. ASU got on the board with 10:24 left in the second quarter on a three-yard run by Cameron Dischler. After falling behind 21-7, Dischler scored again on a two-yard run to make it 21-14 with 14:56 to play. ASU’s Donny Bishop caught four passes for 86 yards. Hunter Boudreaux had an interception for the Rams, while Jeremy Ramirez averaged 43 yards on six punts.

No. 11 Western Colorado 52, (RV) West Texas A&M 21: West Texas A&M fell behind early and dropped a 52-21 decision to No. 11 Western Colorado at Bain-Schaeffer Buffalo Stadium in Canyon, Texas. WC built up a 38-0 lead in the third quarter before WT scored on a 28-yard pass from Knox Porter to Cade Figg. WT added the fourth quarter’s only scores with a one-yard run from Troy Simmons and a 47-yard pass from Kox to JB Mitchell. Knox finished 28-for-42 for 353 yards and Mitchell caught seven passes for 114 yards. Trace Clarkson added eight catches for 144 yards. WT’s James Ingham averaged 44.2 yards on four punts.

No. 22 Western Oregon 22, (RV) Colorado School of Mines 20: No. 22 Western Oregon trailed heading into the fourth quarter but rallied to secure a 22-20 road win over Colorado School of Mines at Marv Kay Stadium in Golden, Colo. After jumping out to a 13-0 lead on a 26-yard Jordan McCarty pass to Jaydan Burns and a two-yard run by Carson Workman, WOU found itself trailing 17-16. McCarty connected with Burns again – this time for 10 yards – to take a 22-17 lead with 10 minutes to play. CSM managed a field goal with 4:57 left, but WOU ran out the clock on its next possession. Malik Ross led WOU’d defense with eight tackles and an interception.

Midwestern State 30, Missouri Southern State 23: Midwestern State totaled 481 total yards and capitalized on all its red zone opportunities to secure a 30-23 win over Missouri Southern State. MSU was trailing 9-0 before Ethan Dishman scored the Mustangs’ first points of the season on an 88-yard blocked extra-point attempt return. MSU utilized four touchdowns – two rushing and two passing – to build a 30-9 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Kaden Brown was 32-for-38 for 390 yards passing with two TDs through the air (to Tyler Brown and Dalton Bailey) and another score on the ground. MSU’s Dominic Cox caught 10 passes for 81 yards. Brycen Lewis had an interception and Tre’Von Bates forced a fumble for the Mustangs.

(RV in FCS) UTRGV 44, No. 18 UT Permian Basin 0: UT Permian Basin fell to FCS opponent UT Rio Grande Valley 44-0 in front of a record 13,698 fans at Robert and Janet Vackar Stadium in Edinburg, Texas. Nate TenBarge threw for 151 yards – 63 to Traylen Suel (five catches). Nicholas Butler had 11 tackles to lead UTPB’s defense. Matthew Sebade averaged 41.9 yards on seven punts. UTRGV scored points on its first four drives and built a 23-0 lead at halftime.

No. 8 Northwest Missouri State 48, Texas A&M-Kingsville 3: Texas A&M-Kingsville fell 48-3 to No. 8 Northwest Missouri State at Javelina Stadium in Kingsville. Texas. Daniel Gauna’s 36-yard field goal cut the deficit to 17-3 with 4:45 left to play in the first half, but NWMS answered with a touchdown to take a 24-3 lead at halftime. Julian Payne had 10 tackles and Kadarious Coleman had an interception to lead the Javelinas’ defense. Will Hutchinson averaged 41 yards on seven punts.
