Week 3 featured all 10 Lone Star Conference teams in league action. Midwestern State, West Texas A&M, UT Permian Basin, Texas A&M-Kingsville and No. 16 Central Washington all prevailed. UTPB is now 2-0 in conference play, while it was the league opener for the other four winners.

Midwestern State 84, Western New Mexico 17: Midwestern State set a school record for points scored in a game with an 84-14 win over Western New Mexico at Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls, Texas. MSU built up a 42-0 lead in the second quarter and finished with 708 yards of offense. Kaden Brown was 15-for-19 passing for 255 yards and three touchdowns – two to Baily Dalton (four catches for 110 yards). Sean Jastrab also threw two TDs for MSU and Joseph Dodds ran for two scores. Daniel Scarabino, Trevor Brooks and Brycen Lewis all had interceptions for MSU. Kohen Maroney was 12-for-12 on point-after attempts. Demarion Postell caught two passes for 80 yards and a TD for WNMU. West Texas A&M 27, Angelo State 19: Tory Simmons ran for 133 yards and three touchdowns – two in the fourth quarter – to lead West Texas A&M to a 27-19 win over Angelo State at LeGrand Stadium. It was WT’s first win in San Angleo, Texas, since 2018. ASU led 19-14 with 12:50 left to play before Simmon (nine carries) found the end zone twice. WT’s Trace Clarkson caught 10 passes for 74 yards. Lucas Jarnagin had 10 tackles and forced a fumble to lead the Buffs’ defense. Ayden Arp threw for 207 yards and Cameron Dischler ran for 120 rushing yards and two TDs on 20 carries for ASU, which also led 12-0 in the third quarter. Zach Burton had two sacks for the Rams. (RV) UT Permian Basin 66, Sul Ross State 7: UT Permian Basin set the tone early with three touchdowns on its first three drives and had four interceptions – taking two back for scores – to cruise to a 66-7 win at Jackson Field in Alpine, Texas. UTPB, which led 45-0 at halftime, got 215 yards passing and three TDs from Nate TenBarge and 95 yards rushing and two scores from Tyler Camden. Layne Horak returned a pick for the second straight week and Eli Leiataua also took one back. Leiataua totaled two INTs and Nicholas Elso had two sacks and forced a fumble. Diego Chavarria was 9-for-9 on extra-point attempts and also made a 38-yard field goal, while Micai Thompson returned a kickoff 98 yards for a TD. Ronald Bell had four catches for 81 yards for SRSU. Texas A&M-Kingsville 56, Eastern New Mexico 22: Texas A&M-Kingsville went on a scoring spree beginning in the second quarter and rolled to a 53-22 win over Eastern New Mexico at Javelinas Stadium. Trailing 15-14 with 10:01 left in the second quarter, TAMUK scored 39 consecutive points to build a 53-15 lead with 10:33 to play. Edward Chumley ran for 188 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries and Mills Dawson threw for 248 yards and a score. Jeremiah Conaway and Jeremiah Robinson each had 10 tackles and Julian Payne had two interceptions for TAMUK. Jose Trevino had five catches for 57 yards and a TD, while Matthew Quartieri had nine tackles for ENMU. Complete Release
 
No. 16 Central Washington 45, No. 10 Western Oregon 36: No. 16 Central Washington erased a halftime deficit and defeated No. 10 Western Oregon 45-36 at Tomlinson Stadium in Ellensburg, Washington. It was also the first win for CWU head coach Scott Power. WOU led 10-0 after the first quarter and 24-17 at halftime. CWU got its first lead, 31-24, on its third consecutive touchdown (a two-yard TD pass from Justin Brennan to Stephen Woodward) with 3:20 left in the third quarter. It was a 38-36 ballgame when Ryder Bumgardner sealed the victory with a two-yard TD run with 1:32 to play. Brennan finished 19-for-26 passing for 314 yards and four TDs with no interceptions. Bumgarner added another TD on the ground and Mason Juergens caught eight passes for 179 yards and a score. LSC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year Brycen Indell had 16 tackles, Omar Lazcano had 11 stops and Joseph Jefferson II and Isaiah Paul each had an INT. LSC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year Jordan McCarty threw for 206 yards and three TDs – two in the first half – and added 122 rushing yards. Complete Release
