Lone Star Conference women’s soccer league play continues, and five teams remain unbeaten: No. 3 DBU (7-0, 4-0 LSC), No. 16 Texas Woman’s (8-0, 4-0), Midwestern State (8-0, 4-0), UT Tyler (3-1-1, 3-0) and Lubbock Christian (5-1-2, 2-0-2).
 
Of that unbeaten group, DBU and UT Tyler face off Wednesday in Dallas, Texas, while MSU travels to Lubbock, Texas, to face LCU. In Denton, Texas, TWU will host St. Mary’s (5-2-1, 3-1).
 
DBU is scoring a league-best 3.857 goals per game. MSU has not allowed a goal in eight matches. TWU has allowed just one – also over eight matches.
 
DBU is the favorite to win the LSC title this season, according the preseason poll. DBU’s McKenna Vela and Kenzi Tufts, and UT Dallas’ Melyna Martinez were voted preseason players of the year.
 
The LSC women's soccer tournament will feature the top eight teams and is set for Oct. 30 (first round), Nov. 2 (quarterfinals), Nov. 5 (semifinals) and Nov. 8 (final). The first round and quarterfinal matches are played at the site of the higher seed. The semifinals and final rounds are hosted by the No. 1 seed.
 
All LSC women’s soccer teams are eligible to win the regular season title and advance to the LSC and NCAA Division II postseason tournaments.

OFFENSIVE
Jaida Arizmendi, Texas Woman’s, MF, So., Kinesiology, Dallas, Texas
Texas Woman’s sophomore midfielder Jaida Arizmendi helped lead a 2-0 week that kept the No. 16-ranked Pioneers unbeaten on the season at 8-0. Arizmendi scored both goals – one in each half – in a win over Sul Ross State. Those were her only shots on goal and she became the first TWU player with a multiple-goal match this season. Arizmendi, who leads the Pioneers in goals this year, also helped lead a road victory against West Texas A&M.
 
DEFENSIVE
Bella Rose, Midwestern State, D, So., Business Finance, Wichita Falls, Texas
Midwestern State sophomore defender Bella Rose spearheaded shutouts against Texas A&M International and UT Dallas to help the Mustangs stay perfect on the season (8-0) and add to their nation-leading total of eight clean sheets. Rose also scored her first goal of the season in a 2-0 match with TAMIU. Rose and company went on the road and held UTD to a season-low seven shots in a one-goal match.
 
GOALKEEPER
Emma Wright, Lubbock Christian, GK, Sr., Sport Management, Longview, Texas
Lubbock Christian senior goalkeeper Emma Wright recorded two clean sheets and made 15 saves to help fuel an unbeaten week. In a road draw with Sul Ross State, Wright set a career-high with 10 saves. She became the first Lady Chap since 2023 to have double-digit stops in a single match. Wright followed up that performance with five stops in a 2-0 win over Angelo State. She played all 180 minutes over the two matches.
