Softball: Angelo State wins LSC Championship
Angelo State stayed in the winner's bracket throughout the 2008 Lone Star Conference Championship Tournament to claim the LSC title with an 11-6 win over Abilene Christian.
The Rambelles improved to 46-10 this season and earned the LSC's automatic bid into the NCAA Division II South Central Regional in San Angelo, Texas, May 7-11. The rest of the field will be announced Sunday.
ASU's Kari Galm was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. Joining her on the all-tournament team were teammates Brittney Cargill, Whitney Meeks and Kristen Frye, ACU's Jessica Sheiry, Leisha Johnson and Melissa Rodriguez, Southeastern Oklahoma's Rachel Lynn, Lesley Boyd, Bailey Mathes, Midwestern State's Katie Petersen, Tarleton State's Kelli Gayle and Cameron's Megan Young.
